Zakir Khan's journey before tasting the spotlight

Zakir Khan was born on August 20, 1987, in Indore, Madhya Pradesh. He is the grandson of Ustad Moinuddin Khan, who was a sarangi maestro, and under his supervision, Zakir found his love for classical music. Zakir Khan also has a diploma in sitar. But destiny had other plans, and in search of good work, he landed up in comedy, which has a meaning, and not just to belittle someone.

Zakir Khan announced taking a long break from stand-up comedy

Recently, the 38-year-old comedian revealed his plans to take a long break. In his recent live show in Hyderabad from his ongoing tour, 'Papa yaar', a video has been going viral. In the clip, Zakir revealed that he is taking a break and a long one until 2030 as he has to take care of his health and fulfil other commitments. Zakir, who looked visibly emotional, said:

"I’m going on a long, long break. Probably till 2028–29, or even 2030. It will be a break of three, four, or five years to take care of my health and to sort out a few other things. So everyone present here right now is very close to my heart. Your presence means more to me than you can imagine, and I will always be grateful to all of you. Thank you so much."
