Fans are not only unhappy with Kushal's remark, but they also don't like the way Zaid didn't take a stand for his wife, Gauahar.
Kushal Tandon faced major backlash from netizens over a classless joke he cracked about Zaid Darbar, referencing his wife, Gauahar, who was once his girlfriend, on The Alliance. In the clip, Zaid and Kushal were working out in the gym as the latter told what joke he cracked in the cigarette room.
Zaid laughed and revealed that they were in the smoking room when he asked Kushal for a cigarette, as the ones he had were not good. In response, Kushal made a mean joke and said he liked my things, referring to Gauahar Khan, whom he once dated. Zaid said:
"Tujhe saali, saare meri cheezin pasand aati hai."
This left Mini Mathur shocked by the statement, while Arslan simply expressed his dislike and stated that it wasn't a joke. This moment left many shocked and many unhappy with the way Zaid laughed on the same, without taking a stand for his wife or keeping her off-limits. It also renewed fans' love for Arslan.
One user wrote, "@gauaharkhan anything to say on this for your Jan? @zaid_darbar #disappointed disgusting. Start liking Arslan. The way he gives some sense to Zaid by stopping him that's how stupid you are!! Arslan, thank you for showing some maturity and respect toward Gauahar."
A second one penned, "@gauaharkhan you just married a spineless man.
After listening to that joke in the smoking room for the 1st time, there's "No Reaction", but then later he also repeats it in front of everyone. What a shame @zaid_darbar." A third user commented, "My reaction was like, what the hell is this....and zaid aap achhe ho to bhi ye baat normal nahi thi...he is giving such disgusting remarks on your wife; how can you tolerate that, and is she an object to both of you?"
A fourth netizen penned, "Kushal is disgusting for sure, but what about her husband? Spineless man." A fifth one wrote, "Bro!!! Respect your wife at the least!!!! She is Gauhar; you both don't even stand a chance before her name!!! God damn... friendly environment is okay, but this was literally below-the-belt comment!!! Not good, Zaid; she's a mother of your kids..... Respect, bro. Respect."
Gauahar Khan and Zaid Darbar are the most popular couple in the telly town. Gauahar, who made a huge name for herself with her stint in Bigg Boss 9, has been enjoying the best phase of her life. She married Zaid in 2020, and they embraced parenthood with the arrival of their baby boy, Zehaan, in May 2023. In 2025, the couple got blessed with a second son.
For those who don't know, Gauahar and Zaid once appeared together on Rashmi Desai's podcast. During the interaction, Zaid revealed that he was also questioned about his wife's profession at his home. However, he clearly told his family that they should attend his wedding to learn his wife's profession, as he doesn't want any questions about it.
