However, Khushbu recently became a victim of social media trolling just after her daughter, Avantika’s marriage, but she didn’t let the troll get away.
It so happened that Khushbu became the centre of attention after she posted pictures from her daughter, Avantika Sundar’s, wedding in Goa. Khusbhoo’s post collided with the news of veteran actor-director K Bhagyaraj's death. Though the wedding happened two days before Bhagyaraj’s death and was attended by many A-listers from the entertainment world, including Bhagyaraj, her post in the wake of veteran actor-director K Bhagyaraj's death drew attention.
Soon after the star-studded celebration, Khushbu posted a candid photograph with her husband on social media from Avantika’s wedding. Though many loved her candid picture, a section of social media users trolled the actress and also tagged her daughter in it. Users questioned her decision to post the picture right after Bhagyaraj's death and trolled her mercilessly.
Khushbu is hailed for never mincing her words, and she did the same recently after being mercilessly trolled for posting about her happiness on social media. She responded strongly to one of the critical comments, saying that her daughter had just got married and that she had every right to enjoy the special occasion. She also asked if strangers knew her relationship with Bhagyaraj's family better than she did.
After the actress posted the happy picture with her husband, a troller commented, “Is this post really required now? When is the state mourning the loss of Bhagyaraj sir?” Without holding back her agitation, Khushbu responded to her troller and replied:
“@deepapprriyajayyaprakashh why follow me then?? Only to criticize?? My daughter got married not even 48hours before. And who knows Poornima better? You or me?? If you find it difficult, stop following me. I am better off without people like you. I have all the right to be happy."
K Bhagyaraj passed away on June 27, 2026, after suffering a major cardiac arrest. The veteran filmmaker was 73 and is survived by his wife, Poornima Bhagyaraj, son, Shanthnu Bhagyaraj, and daughter, Saranya Bhagyaraj. Soon after the news of his death surfaced, Khushu took to her IG handle and mourned his loss. Penning a tribute to him, she wrote:
“Rest in peace Sir. My funny moments with you will remain etched in my memory forever. I will miss you."
This is not the first time that Khushbu’s family has been targeted online. Her younger daughter, Anandita, recently spoke about being body-shamed by trolls. In a recent podcast, Anandita revealed how she endured online abuse and body-shaming ever since she was a teenager. After a dramatic personal weight-loss transformation, internet users began spreading rumours that she had undergone surgery or used weight-loss injections like Ozempic or Mounjaro. Not just this, she also revealed how mindless trolls compared her to transgender people, a claim that she shut down by stating that transgender is "beautiful" and not an insult.
