Nikki Glaser has made history by hosting the Golden Globes 2026 for the second consecutive year as a solo female host.
Nikki Glaser is having one of the biggest moments of her career right now. The 41-year-old stand-up comedian has been announced as the host of the 83rd Annual Golden Globe Awards, scheduled for January 11, 2026. She is hosting the prestigious international event for the second consecutive year, following her historic achievement in 2025 as the first woman to host the ceremony solo. Subsequently, Nikki was brought back owing to her fearless humour and razor-sharp wit. As the stand-up comedian continues to make headlines, she also gained limelight for her honest decision not to have biological children.
Over the past two years, Nikki Glaser has openly discussed her decision not to have children in her interviews and comedy specials. The comedian mentioned that there is a simple decision behind her decision, that she does not feel any natural desire for motherhood. She explained that she has often seen her friends having a desire to have a kid, but could never feel the same pull herself. Further, it made Nikki feel left out because motherhood is something many women dream of, but she decided not to force herself into wanting something she does not genuinely feel the need for.
Additionally, Nikki has also been open about valuing her freedom and career. She often tours and attends global shows, and her dates are all lined up until 2027. Consequently, the 41-year-old believes that raising a child would demand a level of sacrifice she is not ready to make. During one of her stand-up acts, Nikki famously joked that she spent nearly USD 100,000 attending 22 Taylor Swift concerts, which she felt was more affordable than raising a child. In her words:
“I have free money because I don’t have kids.”
Another reason behind the same is something she calls the “Doug phase.” Nikki often jokes that while people want a cute baby, that baby eventually grows into “some dude named Doug.” Therefore, she believes that the short baby stage of a kid is not enough motivation to commit to a lifetime of parenting. Apart from kids, she has not been married and described the idea of having a forever as ‘admitting defeat”.
Nikki Glaser is presently in a long-term, on-and-off relationship with TV producer, Chris Convy. The couple has been together for more than a decade. But during that period, they have broken up multiple times over the years. According to sources, Nikki has prioritised her career and professional stability over marriage. Although she has decided not to have biological kids, Nikki is not entirely against the idea of being a mother or freezing her eggs. She admitted that she is open to adoption in the future if she ever changes her mind. Sharing her views, she said:
“I have no interest in whether a kid looks like me or shares my DNA. If I ever want to be a parent, adoption makes way more sense to me.”
Nikki Glaser is one of the most popular stand-up comedians globally. She rose to mainstream fame after her viral performance at the 2024 Tom Brady Roast and subsequently performed a record-breaking HBO special, Someday You’ll Die. The 41-year-old even hosted Saturday Night Live in 2025 and is preparing for her global Stunning Tour in 2027. She has several notable Netflix projects, including The Fifth Wheel alongside Kim Kardashian, and a Judd Apatow-directed romantic comedy in the pipeline.
