The filing listed the date of separation as 'TBD,' which sparked online speculation about the timeline of their split. However, the sources close to the pair told TMZ that the split was mutual and drama-free.
Subsequently, Dermot and Prime chose to work with mediators rather than lawyers, indicating they wanted to avoid public courtroom battles. As per insiders, there was no clash over money, property, or parenting responsibilities. Instead, the filing was just a formality for them to legally end their marriage after privately ending it months ago. Despite the separation, Dermot and Prima will reportedly remain friends.
Early in 2026, Dermot Mulroney confirmed that he and Prima reached a full divorce settlement. So, he filed a declaration in the court stating that everything major issues in the divorce, including property division, child custody, support, and visitation rights, were resolved between them. They reportedly agreed on joint physical and legal custody of their two daughters, Mabel Ray and Sally June, a shared property agreement, child support, spousal support terms, and attorney fees. Soon, the duo welcomed their first daughter, Mabel Ray, in 2008, followed by Sally June the next year.
