However, it seems like the ongoing legal drama involving Taylor and her ex, Dakota Mortensen have led the makers to cancel the season. Nonetheless, reports now say that before the show was cancelled, Taylor had allegedly picked her winner from the line-up of twenty-two men competing for her heart on ABC's show. The new season of The Bachelorette was supposed to air on ABC on March 22, 2026, and stream the next day on Hulu.

The makers revealed that they will be cancelling the Secret Lives of Mormon Wives star, Taylor Frankie Paul's season of the dating competition. The decision was made given the open domestic assault investigation involving Taylor and her ex, Dakota Mortensen, with allegations made on both sides. The decision comes just three days before the new season was set to premiere. A Disney spokesperson said the decision to pull the season was made "in light of the newly released video that surfaced" on Thursday.

According to a fiery report by Reality Steve, Taylor's final four were Shane Parton, Lew Evans, Doug Mason, and Casey Hux. Taylor then brought Shane, Lew, and Doug to Salt Lake City for Fantasy Suite dates, and Shane and Doug ended up being her final two. In the end, Doug won Taylor's season of The Bachelorette, and they got engaged.

According to Reality Steve, Taylor and Doug have broken up since wrapping up The Bachelorette. Reality Steve has also shared the reason for the couple's breakup and stated that Taylor would be lying to herself if she thinks anything but Dakota was the reason for her breakup. However, they clarified that she is not back with Dakota either. The report stated:
"Since filming ended, Taylor and Doug have broken up. And yes, it’s because of Dakota. Doug flew to Utah about a month after the engagement (in January I'm told), and Taylor ended it. (If Taylor) says it’s anything other than Dakota, she’s not being honest with herself or the audience. So any TikToks or teases she does on social media is just to promote her season. She is not with Doug anymore. Nor is she with Dakota. She just can’t seem to move on from him."
For the unversed, the Secret Lives of Mormon Wives star, Taylor Frankie Paul, was arrested in connection with a 2023 incident. The arrest and the news of The Bachelorette Season 22 being cancelled made headlines after the footage of Taylor emerged on March 19, 2026 (ET). According to reports, she pleaded guilty to aggravated assault. As per Taylor's spokesperson, she is prioritising her family's safety and "preparing to own and share her story". In a statement, Dakota Mortensen, the father of Taylor's third child, also said he is "focusing on our son and his safety".
