Actress, Khushi Mukherjee, was asked during a recent interview who she would like to date among the Indian cricketers. The 29-year-old stated that none of the Indian men's cricket team interested her; however, she recalls an incident in which a prominent player showed interest in her. Khushi claimed that the 35-year-old Suryakumar Yadav used to message her frequently in the past. She clarified that it happened long ago, and they were no longer in touch. During the public interaction, she stated:
"Suryakumar Yadav used to message me a lot."
Following controversy and social media backlash, Khushi Mukherjee clarified that her past interactions with Suryakumar were purely friendly and casual, and there was never a romantic relationship. She also mentioned that she wished to avoid any link-ups, probably to respect the fact that he is married. She also addressed the online trolling she faced due to her statement and claimed her social media account had been hacked during a recent trip. Notably, the cricketer has not commented publicly on the matter yet. Even after Khushi's attempt at damage control, things didn't cool down, and she might be facing legal trouble as a result.
A Mumbai-based social media influencer, Faizan Ansari, filed a Rs. 100 crore defamation case against Khushi Mukherjee on January 13, 2026. He alleged that her statements were false, damaging to Suryakumar Yadav's reputation, and made purely for publicity. Faizan Ansari also lodged a formal police complaint at the Ghazipur police station, demanding that an FIR be registered against Khushi under serious sections. He has publicly stated that he will pursue the case until an FIR is officially registered. A reaction regarding the lawsuit from Khushi Mukherjee's side is awaited.
