Not his first run-in with the law

The incident marks the third time that Addison faced legal charges in three years. He may be one of the most promising young players on the field, but behind the scenes, he has faced multiple charges for violating the law.

In June 2024, the NFL wide receiver was detained near the Los Angeles International Airport on suspicion of DUI (driving under the influence). He reportedly fell asleep at the wheel of his Rolls-Royce, blocking the traffic on Interstate 105. Addison later pleaded no contest to a reduced charge. He reportedly paid a fine of USD 390 and received a 12-month probation, with the possibility of early termination. In addition, he had to complete two online courses on substance use and safe driving.

Before this, in July 2023, he was booked for speeding on a freeway in Minnesota. He was reportedly cited for driving 140 mph in a 55 mph zone on Interstate 94 in St. Paul, Minnesota. Addison, who was only a rookie back then, told officials that he had an emergency with his dog, which was why he had to speed up. However, the explanation did not prevent the citation, and he was fined USD 686 before the reckless driving charges were dismissed.

After his 2024 offence, he received an NFL suspension for three games without pay, reportedly for violating the league's "substances of abuse" policy. Despite everything, his reported net worth as of 2025 is estimated at USD 2.62 million.

The news of Addison's recent arrest spread just ahead of the Vikings' annual end-of-season press conference. The team's head coach, Kevin O'Connell, and general manager, Kwesi Adofo-Mensah, didn't comment on the arrest, saying that they had only recently learned of the incident. Speaking about Jordan, who is also eligible for a contract extension this spring, Adofo-Mensah said:

"Jordan is unique because 99% of the days that Jordan Addison is a Viking, he's a joy to be around. He's incredibly intelligent, confident, responsible. And then it's like all of us: What are you like on those 1% of days? Is it the type of thing that draws attention or not? Obviously that's something we have to consider when you're talking about long- term ramifications of a contract extension and different things like that, or letting somebody like Jalen Nailor leave."

Jordan Addison's legal team says he may be "exonerated"

After his recent arrest for an alleged first-degree misdemeanor, Jordan's legal team released a statement. The player's representatives at Younger & Associates say they’re investigating the arrest and believe it may not hold up. The agency released a statement on X that reads:

"On Jordan’s behalf, his legal team has already initiated the investigation, identified witnesses, and we are reviewing the viability of a claim for false arrest. He looks forward to the legal process, and upon full investigation, we are confident Mr. Addison will be exonerated."
