The Laurel, Mississippi, Leader Call had given the report that the shooting had taken place at an outdoor concert in a bike club located in Laurel. Laurel police Sgt. Macon Davis had revealed that three people have been put in custody. Two people have been injured, and it has been a miracle that others have not been injured. He shared:
"There had been a scheduled concert there of some rappers, or maybe a couple of different rappers. It drew a large crowd, and then gunshots rang out at the end.”

Well, a statement was released that read that Ahmad has been deeply loved by his coaches, family, friends, teammates, and fans. They are continuing to stand beside him and his family through this difficult time, offering their love, prayers, strength and support. A timeline for his return to football activities is currently unknown.
Ahmad Hardy had received the Associated Press first-team All- America honours and was one of the three finalists for the Doak Walker Award. The young footballer is from Oma, Mississippi, and has started college at Louisiana Monroe. He had then been to Missouri before the 2025 football season had started. Well, it's worth noting that Ahmad's condition is very stable at the moment. His university had revealed that for them, the health and well-being of their students is of top priority for the department. A report by AP News also revealed that no specific details regarding where the concert had taken place or what circumstances emerged related to gunfiring surfaced on social media. "Mizzou Football student-athlete Ahmad Hardy was a victim of a shooting a concert in Mississippi early Sunday morning and sustained a gunshot wound. We will continue to stand beside him and his family through this difficult time, offering our love, prayers, strength and support."
Ahmad Hardy had earlier revealed that many teams had not even recruited him when he came out of high school. It was a very personal thing for him, but he had taken time to prove to his seniors that he was not wrong in the same. Missouri coach, Eli Drinkwitz, had shared that Ahmad had a very good bond with his teammates. In his words:
"For us at the running back position Jamal Roberts, Mr. Dependable. Ahmad Hardy comes along, teaches his teammates how to ride a horse. It's been impressive to watch him on Twitter riding horses as much as it's been impressive to watch him on film. He does an excellent job with both."
