Well, for those who do not know, a few years ago, Bad Bunny made headlines when one of his ex-girlfriends, Carliz De La Cruz Hernandez filed a case against him in Puerto Rico, accusing him of using her voice in his music without Caliz's consent. Bad Bunny and Carliz De La Cruz Hernandez's love story began long before the former became a superstar. Reportedly, the two started dating in 2011. At that time, Bad Bunny was a young boy with big dreams. The duo studied together at the University of Puerto Rico. Slowly and gradually, the two started to come close to each other. At that time, Carliz was not just his girlfriend, but also a major part of his music. She often used to give feedback and help him organise events.

In 2016, Bad Bunny and Carliz decided to take their relationship further and they got engaged. However, their happiness was short-lived. In the same year, Bad Bunny had signed a deal with Rimas Music, which would bring success to him. On the other hand, Carliz went to a law school. The ex-couple slowly and gradually were unable to handle the different paths and they called off their engagement in 2016. However, they soon reunited, only to part ways for good in 2017.

In March 2023, Carliz De La Cruz Hernandez filed a major lawsuit against her ex-boyfriend, Bad Bunny. For the unversed, Carliz accused Bad Bunny for using her voice in a few of his songs without his permission. It is worth mentioning that while the two were in college, Carliz had recorded a phrase, "Bad Bunny baby" for the singer. According to the lawsuit, which was filed in Puerto Rico's court, Carliz claimed that her voice was used without consent in two of Bad Bunny's songs, Pa Ti and Dos Mil 16

During the case, Carliz had admitted that she had recorded the audio herself, but she never agreed for them to be used in his songs in future. She had further stated that one of Bad Bunny's representatives had reached out to her and offered her USD 2,000 to let them buy the recording; however, Carliz had refused and asked for a formal licensing. Later, she claimed that no contract was ever signed and Bad Bunny used the recording without permission.

During the same, she claimed that the use of the audio without permission had been disturbing her mental state, as many of her known people were recognising her through it. She claimed that she had started going through emotional distress and anxiety. Reportedly, she had even demanded USD 40 million.

After making headlines in 2023 for suing her ex-boyfriend, Bad Bunny, Carliz has kept her personal life outside of media attention. However, a few reports suggest that Carliz is not a trained lawyer and is settled in Puerto Rico. Reportedly, she had completed her education around 2023, when the lawsuit was filed. Ever since the legal case, Carliz has not been spotted by the paparazzi. Neither has she been linked to any other celebrity.
