Benjamin, who was a member of the Death Riders faction in AEW, was unsuccessful in capturing the National Championship from Andrade El Idolo. Though AEW made the announcement of Satterley’s passing on social media and on their website, the cause of his death is still unknown. No official announcement has been made yet. Some fans and social media users have speculated that Pac may have suffered a heart attack because of the sudden nature of his death.
But neither AEW nor his family has made any formal announcement regarding the wrestler’s death. In a statement released on social media and on the company’s website Sunday evening, AEW wrote:
“All Elite Wrestling is saddened to announce the passing of Benjamin Satterley, aka Pac. A native of Newcastle upon Tyne, England, Satterley began his wrestling career in 2004 and went on to perform for wrestling organizations all over the world, captivating fans with innovative high-flying moves and incredible in-ring ability.”
Born in 1986, Satterley began wrestling professionally in 2004 and wrestled on the British independent circuit up until 2012. He gained international recognition after debuting under the ring name Adrian Neville in NXT, WWE’s developmental territory. He also wrestled for Pro Wrestling Guerrilla and Dragon Gate before signing with WWE in 2012, where he wrestled as Neville.
During his time in WWE, Satterley held the NXT Championship, the NXT Tag Team Championships, and the WWE Cruiserweight Championship. In AEW, the star was an AEW International Champion and an AEW World Trios Champion twice, becoming the first wrestler to hold these titles simultaneously.
In January 2018, WWE froze Satterley’s contract and kept him under contract indefinitely or until a release was agreed upon. In August 2019, it was reported that he was no longer under contract. After departing WWE, he made his AEW debut at Double or Nothing in May 2019. He later joined forces with Penta El Zero Miedo and Rey Fenix to form the formidable Death Triangle. Pac’s final appearance was at AEW All Out pay-per-view on Saturday, September 26, 2026, in Chicago, Illinois.
During last night’s special, Pac lost the opening match to fellow AEW star Andrade in what would be his final wrestling event, challenging for the AEW National Championship. He lost the match just 25 hours before his death, and this makes his death more shocking. Fans across the AEW and WWE wrestling communities have been left devastated and shocked after Pac’s sudden death and have penned heartfelt tributes for him. A fan expressed his disbelief and wrote, “This man literally wrestled on PPV last night and now he's gone 24 hours later this shit is really not fair RIP PAC.”
