Well now the attention is on West Wilson's cousin, Dakota, who has been held responsible for the death of their step-grandmother.
If reports are to be believed, West Wilson's cousin brother, Dakota Sweeney has been arrested for first-degree murder of their grandmother, Gayle R. Wilson. Reportedly, the incident took place on the night of April 22, 2026, at around 10:30 p.m. According to a report by TMZ, the authorities received a report of shooting. Eventually, when officers reached the place, they found the dead body of a 75-year-old Gayle R. Wilson.
At the crime scene, an eyewitness identified Dakota as the suspect, which led the officials to take him into custody. As of now, Dakota has been charged with first-degree murder and armed criminal action. Reportedly, the investigators from the Missouri State Highway Patrol’s Division of Drug and Crime Control have been handling the case and Dakota is in jail.
While there is not much information available about West Wilson and Dakota’s grandmother, Gayle, a report by Page Six claims that before her tragic death, she was married to Roger. The couple had four children and seven grandchildren, including West and Dakota. It is worth mentioning that the names of Gayle's children and remaining five grandchildren are not available. According to the same outlet, the obituary revealed that Gayle "lived a life marked by creativity, kindness, and cherished moments."

Over the years, Dakota has preferred to maintain a private life, unlike his brother, West Wilson, who rose to fame with the show, Summer House. Reportedly, Dakota lived with his grandparents and at the time of the incident, he was with them.

As per an eyewitness, Dakota was seen sitting next to his grandmother, Gayle before allegedly shooting her in the head. However, it is worth noting that nothing has been confirmed by authorities.
