In a devastatingly shocking incident, popular Tamil TV actress and VJ, Chitra was found hanging in her hotel room on Wednesday morning on December 10, 2020. The most shocking part of the incident is that Chitra was quite active on her social media and had posted pictures some 10-11 hours ago from when her body was found. The photos of Chitra's corpse were shared on social media, and certain marks were seen on her face and cheek, owing to which, various speculations came up. Now, According to the reports in Pinkvilla, the actress' mother has said that Chitra was a bold woman during an interview with a leading daily. According to her mother, Chitra would advise people with such weak thoughts. She also alleged that it was not a suicide and that her husband, Hemanth would have beaten her to death. Chitra's father revealed during an interview that Chitra and Hemanth had a secret marriage a couple of months back, and they were about to renew their vows in an elaborate ceremony in February 2021.
Chitra's father further added that he has no reason to believe that it could not be a suicide and that he has no speculations about her death. He, however, said that there was no reason for her to take that extreme decision also. According to the reports, Chitra and her husband were staying at a five-star hotel in Nazarethpettai. Early Wednesday morning, the actress had reached the hotel after a late-night shoot and had told her husband that she wanted to take a shower. But she did not come back even after a long time, and there was no answer from her, so Hemanth had called for help. When they had opened the door, they had found her hanging from the ceiling of the bathroom. The actress had worked as a presenter on various TV channels in the Tamil industry. She was currently seen in Pandian Stores and had earned a huge fanbase for her role as Mullai. Her show, Pandian Stores, in which she played the lead role is running successfully since 2018. Chitra had also done a small role in popular Tamil series, Saravanan Meenakshi's second part. On the day of her suicide, Chitra had shared videos from the sets of a reality show that she was hosting on her Instagram stories.
