Vishal Dadlani Says A Drunk Bride's Father Once Threatened To Kill Him, 'He Told Me, I'm Going To..'

In the latest episode of 'The Great Indian Kapil Show', Vishal Dadlani recalled an unusual encounter with a bride's father who threatened to kill him.

The Independence Day special episode of The Great Indian Kapil Show 3 saw a union of stars from the music industry. Joining the host, Kapil Sharma, on the stage were celebrated singers Vishal Dadlani, Sheykhar Ravjiani, Shaan, and Neeti Mohan, who filled the evening with heartfelt stories, singing some of their chart-topping hits and revelling in Kapil’s comic banter. After a memorable opening with the stars performing patriotic songs, the show eventually turned into a laughter-filled evening. One particular revelation that surprised as well as amused fans was when Vishal Dadlani recalled getting a death threat at a Ludhiana wedding.

Vishal Dadlani remembers an unusual encounter with the bride’s father mid-performance

In the latest episode of The Great Indian Kapil Show, which aired on Saturday, August 16, 2025, the stage was all set for light-hearted fun banter. While discussing some memorable anecdotes from his musical career, singer-songwriter Vishal Dadlani recalled a shocking yet hilarious memory from his early live performing days.

The Madari singer recalled a wedding gig in Ludhiana when things suddenly took an unexpected turn. The bride’s father, who was drunk on alcohol, shouted all of a sudden that he was going to kill him and came up on the stage. Laughing at the absurdity of the moment, Dadlani shared:

“The bride’s father was high on alcohol, and so were many others. Suddenly, he told me, ‘I am going to kill you.’ Later, the same man came on stage and said, ‘You and me, we will kill everybody.’”

Shaan recalls the time he was mistaken for Sonu Nigam

Vishal Dadlani’s revelation came as a bizarre anecdote which left the audience in splits. But the quirky moments didn’t end there. Shaan also shared an unusual fan encounter that was heartwarming yet awkward. The Behti Hawa Sa Tha Woh singer recalled how a fan once poured his heart out with a long poem dedicated to him, only to mistakenly call him Sonu Nigam at the end. Shaan said:

‘I remember someone who once recited a really long poem. And at the end, he said, “I’m your biggest fan, and you’re unmatched, Sonu Nigam!’

The audience erupted in laughter as Shaan added that the said fan later admitted that the mistake happened because he had recited the same poem to multiple singers, only changing the last line. The mix-up added another hilarious layer to the night’s conversations.

Besides bone-tickling comedy and heartfelt revelations from the guests, the latest episode (Episode 9) of the show also honoured Simran Sharma, a visually impaired athlete and Paris Paralympics bronze medallist, along with her coach and husband, Gajendra Singh. Their journey of grit and courage brought goosebumps to everybody present, reminding us how resilience and spirit shine as bright as music and laughter.

Meanwhile, Sunil Grover had the audience in splits as he transformed into 'Fulljar Saab', a parody inspired by the legendary Gulzar Sahab, complete with his poetic style and signature attire. Adding to the laughter, Krushna Abhishek appeared as 'Dada', while Kiku Sharda created laughter in a quirky Bappi Lahiri avatar.
