Travis Head's wife, Jessica, in an interview with The Adelaide Advertiser, revealed that her friends and family got targeted. She referred to her old wounds surfacing, where during the 2023 World Cup finals, Australia had defeated India with Travis creating 137 runs and he receiving the player of the match award due to his win. Jessica slamming trollers said:
"It feels like a repeat of the abuse that happened after the World Cup. I woke up to my socials blasting... we are fine but they are attacking my friends and family."
When Virat Kohli declined the traditional post-match handshake due to a heated confrontation on the cricket field, fans of Virat unexpectedly targeted Jessica. Well, it has not been for the first time that cricketers' wives have been attacked and had to face repercussions of what happens on the cricket field.
Well, earlier, when the India vs Australia ODI World Cup final was on, Travis Head's catch that dismissed Rohit Sharma was also hated by fans. "I think across all sports at the moment there's an important conversation around mental health, perspective and the way we speak to one another. She, her family and friends had to pay a price for Virat and her husband, Travis' on-field exchange.
