Vijay Varma and Tamannaah Bhatia were one of the most loved couples of B-town. The duo reportedly began dating in 2022. Vijay and Tamannaah’s chemistry, both on-screen and off-screen, made headlines during the filming of Lust Stories 2. In June 2023, they made their relationship public. However, after two years of dating, the two had a split. In a recent interview, Vijay got candid about receiving excessive hate on social media after his breakup with Tamannaah.
In a recent interview with News18, Vijay Varma revealed that he received excessive hate on social media after his breakup with Tamannah Bhatia. He shared that the constant speculation around his personal life had a bad impact on him. Vijay explained that when they were growing up, saying something bad about someone on a public forum was not appreciated. However, things have changed now. People who are subjected to abuses receive more hate than those who are actually badmouthing them. He was quoted as saying:
"When we were growing up, saying something bad about someone on a public platform was frowned upon and not appreciated. Those who badmouthed were considered to be wrong. Abhi sab kuch ulta ho gaya hai. Jo gaali de raha hai, usko koi kuch nahi bol raha hai. The one who’s being subjected to these abuses will, in fact, have more people badmouthing rather than supporting them."
In the same interview, Vijay Varma recalled the negativity and lies that were constantly written about him in 2025. The Gustaakh Ishq actor highlighted that he opted for silence and maintained a gap of 14 months from the public eye, only to bring back the focus on his work. Vijay stated that for a couple of years, people had been talking more about his personal life rather than his work. He added that there were so many fabricated lies which were written about him. Vijay shared that he recently moved to a bigger house and made sure his family often visits him. He was quoted as saying:
"The world is changing so fast. I’m not able to catch up. There has been an entire shift in the culture. The way people communicate and write comments is a little too excessive, direct and personal. Sometimes, there’s too much fabrication and too many lies written about you. I realised that I didn’t want to be a part of all this. So, I went back and focused on what works for me – creating characters and telling stories. That also gave me a chance to reconnect with my family. I recently moved into a bigger house. I make sure that my family visits me more often."
In a 2025 interview with NDTV, Tamannaah Bhatia opened up about love and relationships. The actress shared that she was trying to work on becoming a great life partner. Tamannaah subtly mentioned the reason for her and Vijay’s split. She was quoted as saying:
"I am trying to work on becoming a great life partner. So that’s the quest at the moment. I want to be that life partner that someone feels like they have done some good karma in their past life. That’s why I have come into their life. Whoever the lucky person is, I am working for it. I think there are a few things that I recently realised. One is that people confuse what love is and what a relationship is."
