33-year-old Twisha Sharma's death case has been discussed nationally. Her husband, Samarth Singh, was caught 10 days later and is now being investigated. However, he's reportedly uncooperative.
Twisha Sharma, a 33-year-old professional model and actress, was found dead on May 12, 2026, at her marital home in Bhopal's Katara Hills. The incident has shocked the entire nation. For the unversed, initially, Twisha's death was said to be suicide. However, the family members made strong allegations against Twisha's husband, Samarth Singh and her mother-in-law, Giribala Singh. The allegations included domestic, mental abuse, harassment over dowry, among others.
While a post-mortem already took place, Twisha Sharma's family requested another test at AIIMS Delhi, and currently, the process is ongoing. To mention, Samarth Singh was arrested in Jabalpur after absconding for 10 days. Following his arrest, he was sent to a seven-day police remand by a Bhopal court. Currently, Samarth Singh and his mother, Giribala Singh, are being investigated.
As per a recent report, during the investigation, Samarth Singh remained uncooperative, and he is constantly twisting narratives by constantly raising questions about his wife's character. If the reports are to be believed, the answers that Samarth Sharma has given to the officials have been unconvincing. Reportedly, Samarth accepted that some tension was already up in their marital life, and on April 17, 2026, when Twisha informed him about her pregnancy, things turned sour between them. He also reportedly talked about their argument over a trip, just before Twisha's death. Reportedly, Samarth's passport has been seized as of now.
For those who don't know, Twisha Sharma's family members accused her in-laws of dowry harrasment and abetment to suicide, while they have denied the claims and accused the former model of drug addiction. The investigators recently revealed that Giribala Singh is also being questioned along with her son, and their claims and statements are being cross-verified with each other. As per the investigators, while Twisha's death was mentioned to be a suicide, an investigation has been ongoing, and nothing can be confirmed, nor can a conclusion be given by now.
To mention, Giribala Singh made several comments about her late daughter-in-law about her taking medicines for MTP. She also said that her daughter-in-law destroyed it all while adding that they have seen some signs in her, including trembling in her hands, and a change in her behaviour the next day, if she would be fine one day.
Apart from that, another video went viral, wherein Giribala Singh was seen speaking to Twisha's brother, wherein she questioned about the former model's physical relationship to her ex-boyfriends. While Samarth Singh is a lawyer, his mom, Giribala Singh, is a former judge. Her questions and comments on her late daughter-in-law and her family members have sparked a heated outrage around. Well, she recently claimed that she would be fully supportive of the investigations that would take place.
The case was resigtered as 'In Re: Alleged institutional bias and procedural discrepancies in the unnatural death of a young girl at her matrimonial home' and was recently heard by a bench led by Chief Justice of India Surya Kant, and justices Joymalya Bagchi and Vipul M Pancholi. The court asked the media not to use any family's statement for now. And recently, Solicitor General Tushar Mehta informed the Apex Court that CBI will take over the probe, and the process will begin today itself.
