In a shocking new update in the high-profile murder of Twisha Sharma, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has intensified its probe and made some major revelations. For the unversed, Twisha's mother-in-law, a former District and Sessions Judge, Giribala Singh and the deceased actress's husband, Samarth Singh, are currently being questioned over what happened on the night of April 22, 2026, when Twisha's mother, brother, and cousin had to rush to Bhopal. What is interesting is that both mother and son have maintained their silence on the topic.
According to reports, both Giribala Singh and Samarth Singh have chosen to remain silent, answering only a few questions. A report by Jagran.com has alleged that, at the moment, the CBI's primary focus during the interrogation was to piece together the deteriorating relationship between Twisha Sharma and her husband, Samarth, after their marriage and to establish the timeline of events on the night of the alleged incident. However, the prime suspects' silence has raised several questions in the case.
What happened on April 22, 2026?
While Samarth Singh initially alleged it was a minor disagreement between husband and wife, the authorities seem to believe otherwise. Samarth reportedly argued that minor disagreements between husband and wife are normal. However, officials directly asked him what exactly had happened on April 22, 2026, that his late wife, Twisha Sharma's mother, brother, and cousin had to come to Bhopal to counsel him. Following this question, Samarth allegedly fell silent and refused to answer any further questions. CBI officials also questioned him about allegations of physical assault between the couple.
They also asked what led to the complete breakdown of the marriage within just six months. However, according to the report, Samarth Singh also attempted to avoid answering these questions as well. On the other hand, another CBI team questioned Twisha Sharma's mother-in-law, Giribala Singh, regarding the crucial 40-minute timeline on the night of the incident.
The CBI also sought clarification from Giribala Singh regarding allegations made by Twisha Sharma's family, which are also mentioned in the FIR. According to reports, the family claimed that until around 9:40 PM, Twisha was speaking normally with her maternal family members over the phone. However, 40 minutes later, when her sister-in-law called again, her phone went unanswered, and when it was finally answered, Giribala reportedly informed them directly about Twisha's death, leaving her entire family in shock.
The same questions were asked to Giribala Singh by the CBI. Officials also asked under what circumstances the family was informed. As per Jagran.com, the 63-year-old claimed she was not feeling well and "complained of anxiety during questioning, forcing the agency to temporarily pause the interrogation". Regardless, the CBI has already found major contradictions in Samarth's and Giribala's statements, and is not satisfied with their responses so far.

It has also been reported that before tying the knot with Twisha Sharma, discussions about another relationship involving Samarth had taken place. During that period, Samarth and the woman had reportedly grown close but later lost contact for undisclosed reasons. While it is alleged that the CBI has already gathered information about it, Smarth Singh and Giribala Singh have once again refused to answer the questions.
