Trisha Krishnan got engaged to a Chennai-based businessman named Varun Manian on January 23, 2015. The engagement was a gala affair and was attended by many leading names from the industry. Varun was the managing director of Radiance Realty. Her fans were thrilled with the news and were all set to see Trisha as a bride.
However, after five months of their engagement, reports surfaced that the wedding was called off. While everyone thought that it was just another rumour, the actress soon confirmed it. While the exact reason was not disclosed back then, it was reported that after a certain period of time, the couple was not able to connect as they had different perspectives.
According to reports, Varun's father opposed his son's decision to marry Trisha because he wanted someone from a similar background to theirs. The reports also stated that Trisha and Varun had different perspectives towards life. There were reports that Varun wasn’t happy with Trisha’s bond with other actors. Many reports also shared that after Trisha invited Dhanush to her engagement, Varun didn’t like it, and a huge spat broke out between him and Trisha.
As per OnManorama, Trisha said that she decided to call off her engagement because the person she chose to marry asked her to give up acting, so she gave up on him instead. Speaking about the same, Trisha said:
“That's why my wedding was called off. The person I was supposed to marry, asked me to stop acting. Instead of films, I chose to put a full stop to my engagement. I will only take a break when I get pregnant. If I am not offered lead roles, I will do characters that suit my image but I won't move away from the film industry. My wish is to act until my last breath."
Trisha was once in a steady relationship with actor Rana Daggubati. For years, Rana Daggubati's affair with actress Trisha Krishnan was a hot topic of discussion among the masses. While Trisha and Rana’s fans thought that they would tie the knot, news about their breakup surfaced in the media. Since Rana and Trisha never acknowledged that they were dating, when the news of their breakup surfaced, they didn’t address it.
Rana appeared on the celebrity chat show, Koffee With Karan, and when the host quipped about Trisha, Rana admitted that he and Trisha were friends and had even dated for some time. Talking about the same, he shared:
“She (Trisha Krishnan) has been my friend for a decade. We have been friends for a long time and even dated. But, I guess, things didn't work out."
