Travis Kelce and Patrick Mahomes are being called out for downplaying their role in the Kansas City steakhouse. According to TMZ, the NFL pros have asserted that they don't have any direct link to the establishment after it was hit with a federal lawsuit. The court documents obtained by the news outlet Travis and Patrick are being sued by a company named 1587 Sneakers.
According to the documents, 1587 Sneakers, the company that is suing Travis Kelce and Patrick Mahomes for trademark infringement, has scoffed at the NFL stars' claim that they were not official members of the LLC used to launch their steakhouse, 1587 Steakhouse. The duo has further claimed that evidence will show that they hold no direct interest in, and are not authorized to exert control over, the restaurant.
The official website for the restaurant states, "A collaboration between NFL icons Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce, in partnership with Noble 33." Reports have further alleged that the NFL stars went on a full press tour in late 2025 to promote the steakhouse. In new court documents, 1587 Sneakers has alleged that they already had the trademark to 1587 for their sneaker company.
While Travis Kelce and Patrick Mahomes have moved to dismiss the case, claiming that they have no control over the restaurant and no ties to New York City, where the case was filed, it doesn't seem like they'll be getting out of the suit anytime soon. The company suing doesn't agree, insisting Travis and Patrick are trying to recast themselves as "two distant celebrities that are mere promotional 'pretty faces' of the alleged infringing enterprise with no New York ties."
They point out the name 1587 Steakhouse came from putting their NFL numbers together and say they should have to defend themselves in the trademark dispute. While the case remains ongoing, fans await new information as Travis Kelce and Patrick Mahomes try to find a way out of the legal fiasco.

"Well, he came back in good shape. I know everybody’s out there saying he’s got the ‘dad body’ and all this stuff, but he looks the same to me that he’s always looked. He’s focused in and ready to go, and I appreciate that. [Kelce] has been here 14 years and wants to be out there every snap."
