'Dana' vs 'Robby', after the former saved 'Emma'

After episode 11, which sparked the emotional chaos with 'Roxie's death, 'Jesse's arrest and Officers (ICE) arresting some people, another code 'Hula Hoop' happened with 'Emma Nolan' being attacked by a patient, 'Curtis Larson'. 'Curtis' has a history of coc**ine and alcohol in his system. Well, 'Curtis' put 'Emma' in a chokehold when 'Dana' stepped in and saved the latter. 'Dana' didn't actually wait for any security to come up, nor did she follow any administrative rule; rather, she took up a syringe of Versed and saved 'Emma'. By the time doctor 'Robby' arrived 'Curtis' was already on the floor and was seen bleeding from his nose.

When asked 'Dana' mentioned that it happened due to a slip by the patient, although things were pretty clear. 'Robby's reaction to the entire situation looked cold, as he was more worried about the legal and hospital optics. When he tried to take 'Dana' out of the scene, she refused and stayed there to comfort 'Emma', who was visibly shaken by the attack from 'Curtis'. Following this, 'Dana' and 'Robby's fall out became an emotional tug. While 'Robby' tries to call out 'Dana's unprofessionalism, she fires back at him.

'Robby' was left in silence as 'Dana' continued to call out his actions, while pointing out his growing arrogance, and him not focusing on his team falling apart, rather trying to frame himself as someone who is burdened by the job. Another point that 'Dana' brought was about the sabbatical that 'Robby' is all set to take, which 'Dana' feels is more like a validation-seeking rather than a recovery phase. To mention over here, this particular line has become a talking point as theories are claiming there is something of a major blow with 'Robby's break, but again, that's completely a theory, and can only be seen if true or not with the weekly release of the episodes.

The internal team and the reflections of the patients

While this emotionally heavy phase goes on, the internal team also starts to show fractures, which mirrors the instability of the ER. Firstly, 'Dr Baran' remained busy sidelining 'Dr. Langdon', learning about his past with drug addiction. While she may be logically doing the right thing, the emotional distance follows; however, 'Langdon' doesn't crash and rather continues to find joy in small moments.

On the other hand, the conversation between 'Santos' and 'Whitaker' shows a human touch, as the former kept hiding that she's affected by the latter moving out; however, he offers genuine support, reading between the lines. Speaking of the patients mirroring the system, it could be seen by 'Samira Mohan's patients, 'Eddie' and 'Frida', a couple with ageing difficulties, and overloaded medications.

The cliffhanger comes with 'Orlando's return

The cliffhanger comes with the return of a patient 'Orlando'. 'Dr Samira Mohan' dealt with him before and told him that he needed to have his treatment done, which surely would come with a hefty bill, which 'Orlando' didn't actually have, leading him to run away from the ER. Now, he returned in a much worse condition, which left 'Mohan' stuck, as she felt responsible, with a history of trying to help him. The shift was about to be over, but with 'Orlando's return, it will go on. On top of that, the main question is lingering about how many people are out there just like 'Orlando', who are scared of cost so much so that they have to run only to return when it's too late.
