#1. The hair

Nowadays, hair jewellery has taken the bridal makeover industry by storm. Whether it is a simple polki maang tikka, a matha patti that covers the entire hairline on the forehead or a jhoomar, these accessories give the bride a look that is light, simple, subtle, classy and elegant.

#2. The face

Keeping it light and simple is the new trend. As it is, the wedding outfit that the bride wears is heavy and a gorgeously embellished piece of art. Why clutter the look by wearing heavy jewellery that will make you feel hot and stuffy as well? As mentioned earlier, a simple maang tikka, a big diamond nose stud or a nose ring attached to the ear with a delicate gold string, clubbed with heavy jhumkas to match the outfit will do the job just right.

#3. The neck

Did you know that wearing sleek and slender neck pieces makes your neck look slimmer, longer and more defined? Yes, it absolutely does! So instead of wearing long and heavy necklaces, sometimes 5-6 layers of them, just go for elegantly crafted chokers made out of diamonds, coloured stones or polki; whichever suits your outfit the best.

#4. The hands

For the north Indian brides, chooda takes care of the major part of accessorising the hands. For the rest, don’t compromise on the numbers here. A bride looks best with plenty of bangles on her wrist. You can mix and match with the colours of your dress, wear kadas in the beginning. But if you aren’t a fan of bangles, wear big gold/diamond bracelets or kadas along with delicate haathphools on both hands. And instead of the usual gold rings, wear big and bold statement rings, one in each hand to complete your look.

#5. The feet

A few toe rings and a beautiful anklet or payal; that is all you need to glam up your feet for the wedding day. Don’t you want people to go ‘’wow’’ every time you lift up that lehenga to climb a stair or enter the mandap?

#6. The extra touches

If you are wearing a choli or blouse that shows off your waist and its curves, then accessorise it with a gorgeous kamarband to enhance the beauty even more. You can wear a beautiful big red bindi if you have a wide forehead, and keep the makeup subtle yet sharp.
