During the first police questioning, Mackenzie was in the hospital after the crash, and Assistant Professor, Tim Troup called a "unique language," comparable to pig Latin. In a recording, Detective, Zaki Hazou informed Mackenzie and her mother that they're investigating her for two counts of aggravated vehicular homicide. However, she responded in quasi-jibberish, asking Natalie if they could tell the police she had a seizure. She further asked Hazou, "Can't you just take my license away for like, 10 years?"

What did Davon Flangan's friends say about the accident?

The footage from The Crash also showed two of Davon's friends speaking with the police, and provided data from their Life360 app, which tracked their late friend's location. The friends explained that the trio, Mackenzie, Dom and Davon, went to a "small gathering or party" before the crash. The app showed that Davon was on his phone at 5:35 a.m., just a minute before the crash. The data also showed that Mackenzie's car didn't stop until impact; in fact, she hit the accelerator seconds before the crash rather than the brakes. Some of the trio's common friends even pointed to the toxic relationship between Mackenzie and Dom, suggesting it could have led her to take the drastic step.
