Reportedly, Milania was experiencing suicidal thoughts after she was recently released from a hospital. The police also got involved after Milania ran away from her family at the airport. A while ago, Teresa finally broke her silence on her daughter's airport breakdown and gave more insight into what was happening behind the scenes.
On September 28, 2026, days after Milania Giudice’s breakdown at the airport, Teresa Giudice released her first statement, where she opened up about her daughter's “psychological trauma." Taking to her Instagram Stories, she said that the past few months have been really difficult for her family. And while she wants to protect her daughter, she felt the need to say something. Teresa wrote:
“The past few months have been incredibly difficult for our family, and I feel it is important to say something while also protecting my daughter during an extremely vulnerable time in her life. Milania has experienced tremendous heartbreak and significant psychological trauma after losing two of her best friends.”
For those wondering, Milania’s best friend, Victoria Zardoya, died in July 2026 after she suffered a fatal fall. Just two months later, her great-grandmother also passed away before her 99th birthday. Teresa noted that “grief affects everyone differently,” and seeing her child process that kind of loss is something no parent can truly prepare for. At present, the Real Hosewives of New Jersey star said that she focused on her daughter and will make sure that Milania is surrounded by all the love, family, and support that she needs.
Teresa Giudice agreed that it is quite natural that there will be questions and speculations, but at the end of the day, Milania is her daughter. Claiming that her daughter deserves the opportunity to heal, she added:
“She is a young woman going through an incredibly difficult and deeply personal time, and she deserves the opportunity to heal without every moment of her pain being analyzed publicly. 8 am asking from one mother to another, and from one family to all of you, to please show Milania compassion and kindness and allow her the privacy she needs right now.”
Teresa Giudice concluded her note by saying that they are truly grateful for those who have reached out to them with love, prayers, and support. However, she wants the media and the public to give Milania and their family space as they navigate this difficult period together.
It is worth mentioning that Teresa Giudice’s ex-husband and Milania's father, Joe Giudice, also gave similar statements, claiming that his daughter is “young and going through a very difficult period.” He said that losing someone is incredibly painful and grief is not something that has a fixed timeline. He claimed that Milania Giudice has been trying to process the loss of her best friend, all while dealing with the pressures of growing up in the public eye.
Joe explained that unlike how his daughter has been portrayed in recent headlines, Milania is not that type of person. Instead, she is a “good girl” who has a big heart, loves deeply, and cares enormously about the people in her life.
After Milania Giudice's breakdown at the airport, the reality star's manager and longtime friend, Maria DeSantis, said in a statement that the former is “currently surrounded by people who love her and is under the care of professionals who are working with her and her family.” She explained that Milania is a good-hearted and caring woman who has been going through a very challenging period. Right now, their main focus is on her health, healing, and well-being.
