The Reason Behind Sushant Singh Rajput And Ankita Lokhande Split Up After 6 Years Revealed

Sushant Singh Rajput and Ankita Lokhande were the most loved couple of Indian television. Their chemistry was sizzling and everyone wanted to see them get married soon! Their fans were even expecting a December wedding in 2016. But unfortunately, things took an ugly turn.

One of the most loved couples, both on-screen and off-screen, Sushant Singh Rajput and Ankita Lokhande aka Manav and Archana of Pavitra Rishta decided to call it quits after six beautiful years of their relationship.

They met on the sets of their show, Pavitra Rishta in 2009, and fell in love. Sushant even proposed to his ladylove on National television.

Sushant Singh and Ankita Lokhande were generally seen together at all public events, however, when Ankita decided to give Sushant’s birthday bash hosted by the Moranis a miss, their breakup got more or less confirmed. They were last seen together at the Zee Cine Awards 2016, where they were seen posing happily for the shutterbugs.

Many people believe that their relationship could not stand the constant media pressure, as Sushant was constantly on the move because of his work and they were getting to spend even less time with each other. So they decided to sit together and end their “not-so-happy” relationship.

Hindustan Times spoke to this talented actor about these ongoing controversies about his personal life and he said,

If you are discussed, scrutinised and judged in public not as an actor but for your personal life, you can’t complain. However, you sometimes feel helpless and terrible. Especially if you are an introvert.

On the other hand, many blame Ankita’s over-possessiveness for the split, a source close to the couple said:

“They have simply grown apart. It happens. When they started they both wanted similar things. They both had dreams. But somewhere along the way, Ankita was just content doing nothing while his career took off. I think that is where the disconnect began.”

Post his break-up with Ankita, Sushant was constantly in news because of his rumoured relationship with actress Kriti Sanon. The two are working together for the film, Raabta. In fact, many reports even suggested that the reason behind Sushant and Ankita’s breakup was his growing intimacy with Kriti. However, both Sushant and Kriti never accepted their relationship publicly and in fact, kept rubbishing the reports by calling them mere rumours.

And, then there were Sushant and Ankita's tweets out there that left everyone wondering about what happened between the two of them.

But, did it really happen?

Well, while this was one side of the story, after some time Ankita came out in open and talked about these breakup rumours. The actress rubbished all the rumours saying:

“I don't know why everyone's speculating that our six-year relationship has ended and that we are no longer together. It's unnecessary and uncalled for. I am there with him as always, I love Sushant Singh Rajput unconditionally. These rumours are completely baseless and in bad taste."

Refuting the news of Sushant's growing closeness with his co-star, she further stated:

"Such rumours hurt since I have always admired and respected Sushant for his loyalty and commitment. He has never played games with me. He has always been a one-woman man and I love my man."

And on being asked about their wedding, here's what Ankita said:

"You'll definitely get invited to my wedding. As of now, all I can say is that anything that happens between us is our business alone. I can only assert that I love Sushant unconditionally and he, more than anyone else, knows it."

While there has been no clarity so far about the couple's relationship status, Sushant has finally opened about his break-up and revealed the real reason why they parted ways.
