A 29-year-old software engineer, who has been identified as Sambhav Jain, died by suicide after jumping from the 43rd floor of a building in Noida. However, his extreme step says a lot about laws, which are extremely biased towards men, and they often leave them with no choice but to end their lives.

The 29-year-old has been identified as Sambhav, who was in continuous contact with his father on WhatsApp before his passing. His father was repeatedly persuading him to return home and told him not to take any extreme step. He had sent a last message to his father, which can be read as:

"Papa, you won’t have to pay anyone now."

The 29-year-old jumped from Aspire Tower in the Supernova society in Sector 94. Within seconds, he took his life by jumping from the building and falling to the ground. AC technicians, who were working in a nearby room, noticed Sambhav and tried to stop him. However, Sambhav told them that he was depressed and had no reason to live. He then jumped from the building after letting go of the railing.

During the investigation, it was revealed that Sambhav had exchanged messages with his father in Hindi and English, and he told him about his intentions of ending his life due to financial difficulties. A two-minute video was found on Sambhav's phone, wherein he talked about his financial difficulties. He did not hold anyone responsible for his death.

Sambhav had checked into Supernova via Airbnb and went to his room; staff were also questioned about his suicide. He was staying at Supernova for two days. Sambhav lived in the Manesar area of Gurugram and had rented room number 4228 in the building, and he checked in around 2:30 p.m.

He died by suicide due to financial stress after he got married in 2024, and his wife gave birth to a premature baby in 2025, who had been extremely unwell since birth. The family spent around INR 35 lakh to INR 40 lakh on the child's treatment, but his health remained the same.

Sambhav later divorced his wife through court proceedings, and he was also concerned about his own health. These issues left him under considerable stress. The same place has witnessed three other deaths. One unverified post on X claimed that Sambhav's wife was demanding INR 3 crore as alimony, and one crore was already paid.

Netizens expressed their shock as one user wrote, "But no one will give a shit to this matter, as it's nothing but just reverse the gender and the whole nation will start protests; everyone will come in support. Such a shame." A second one penned, "@PMOIndia
govt needs to work out what should be the ideal compensation in case of divorce and pass a bill."

A third one commented, "Furious scenario for any person.  We strictly need to get a standard law. On what basis does someone require 3 cr amount? Livelihood should be maintained only to the extent that the person is not able to find ways to survive. What's the point of forcing someone into lifelong trauma after divorce."
