With Swift's estimated fortune dwarfing Kelce's reported USD 90 million net worth, legal experts say a prenup was always likely. And according to multiple reports, the agreement isn't about expecting the worst, but more about protecting everything that the pair built over the years, long before they became husband and wife.
According to entertainment journalist Rob Shuter's Naughty But Nice newsletter, Swift and Kelce finalized a prenuptial agreement before their July 3 wedding, with Taylor's father, Scott Swift, reportedly playing a key role in overseeing the process. Scott, a former financial advisor at Merrill Lynch, has reportedly insisted that the couple sign a prenup before heading into the next phase of their lives.
Scott Swift has long been credited with helping safeguard his daughter's business empire. An insider claimed there was never any disagreement over the agreement, adding that Kelce fully supported the process and respected Scott's involvement. Describing the prenup as smart and practical financial planning rather than a sign of mistrust, the insider shared:
"When you’re dealing with nearly $2 billion in combined assets, a prenup isn’t a sign of mistrust. It’s smart business. ... Taylor has romance in her heart and Scott has business in his head. The prenup isn’t about preparing for failure—it’s about protecting everything they’ve built."
According to Forbes, the singer's fortune is estimated at around USD 2.1 billion, thanks to her record-breaking tours, music catalog, publishing rights, real estate portfolio and business ventures. Based on these numbers, Travis and Taylor's collective net worth stands somewhere around USD 2.19 billion.
One of the biggest talking points surrounding the reported agreement is how it could protect Swift's creative empire. Based on what family law experts believe, the couple's agreement likely keeps ownership of her music catalog, future recordings, royalties, and intellectual property entirely separate from marital assets. That also includes future albums, re-recordings, publishing rights, and touring revenue.

They are then expected to continue through Asia before taking them to Fiji in Australia, with the tropical beaches of Hawaii reportedly serving as the final stop on their whirlwind honeymoon.
