Taylor Frankie Paul has been in the major limelight, not because of her show, The Bachelorette, being pulled just days before its premiere. Taylor and her ex-boyfriend, Dakota Mortensen, have been washing their dirty linen in public after a video of a domestic incident between Paul and Mortensen surfaced in 2023. Now, according to the latest development, Taylor Frankie Paul has filed for a temporary restraining order against her ex-boyfriend, Dakota.
According to a recent Variety report, Taylor Frankie Paul has filed for a temporary restraining order against her ex-lover, Dakota Mortensen. She has a son with her ex-flame, and the legal move comes ahead of their hearing in Utah. This reportedly came after Mortensen ordered protection against his ex-girlfriend, Taylor Frankie Paul, and sought custody of their son. For the unversed, Taylor Frankie Paul has reportedly been found guilty in relation to the domestic violence case filed against her by Dakota. Taylor's spokesperson revealed that she has been suffering mental and physical abuse silently for years.
Speaking about the temporary restraining order, it was filed at the Salt Lake District Court before the ex-flame was to go to court for a hearing on the temporary protective order. This was filed by Mortensen against Paul, as mentioned by her lawyer and the court records. Mortensen has accused Taylor multiple times with charges of domestic violence. Taylor Frankie Paul's lawyer, Eric Swinyard, during the court hearing revealed that the order was 'hot off the presses'. Details related to her temporary order were not in the public domain. The filing claimed that Mortensen had a pattern of abusive conduct and coercive control. The lawyer said
“Dakota is excellent at escalating and aggravating Taylor; when she reacts, it’s 100% at Dakota. Dakota pushes buttons; he is excellent at that. As long as these people stay apart ... then there is no risk to the child. Her anger is very clearly unambiguously directed at Dakota; it has nothing to do with the children."
The publication's statement revealed that Taylor is very grateful for ABC’s support as she prioritises her family’s safety and security. The statement read that after years of silently suffering extensive mental and physical abuse as well as threats of retaliation, Taylor is finally gaining the strength to face her accuser and taking steps to ensure that she and her children are protected from any further harm. A part of the hard-hitting statement read:
"There are too many women who are suffering in silence as they survive aggressive, jealous ex-partners who refuse to let them move on with their lives. Taylor has remained silent out of fear of further abuse, retaliation, and public shaming. She is currently exploring all of her options, seeking support, and preparing to own and share her story.”
A report by the PEOPLE revealed that Taylor claimed to be a victim of domestic violence during different instances. She accused Dakota of assault, harassment and stalking. She claimed that on February 23, 2026, Paul had come to her home, where three kids were asleep. This also had Ever, their child. The statement read about Dakota hitting Taylor on the head.
"The parties argued and Dakota assaulted Taylor by slamming her head against the dashboard of his truck and striking her knee and elbow,"
