Taylor Frankie Paul's show, The Bachelorette , was all set to air when a video of her along with her ex, Dakota Mortensen, was shared, wherein their dispute could be witnessed. Given the intense nature of the video, as well as the ongoing domestic violence claims involving these two, ABC cancelled the show. Now, recent reports claimed that ABC is considering a mid-July premiere.
Along with this report, several other controversies started hitting the headlines; one was that Taylor's ex, Dakota, called cops on her recently, and the other is that she checked into rehab willingly after her ex, Tate Paul, requested a temporary restraining order against her, and was denied the next day. And a recent report revealed that Dakota's recent actions were seemingly due to the fact that he doesn't want to go on air.
Dakota was initially granted full custody of his son, Ever; however, recently a judge granted Taylor unsupervised alternating weekend visits. However, Dakota keeps calling cops on her, and as per a recent report by Us Weekly, sources revealed that the 33-year-old has been using and abusing the system to inflict pain on Taylor, and he's creating inaccurate, harmful narratives.
The Insider recently claimed that Dakota's actions are to stop the show from going on air, while Taylor's priority is her and her family's well-being. So, Dakota and Taylor's approaches are in contrast, given that he is trying to inflict pain, while she is avoiding the same. The insider could be quoted as saying:
"He's using and abusing the system to inflict the most pain and create inaccurate, harmful narratives, seemingly to prevent a show from going on the air — which is in direct contrast to Taylor — whose priority is her family and her own well-being. One side is trying to inflict pain, the other side is trying to manage and avoid pain. It's been incredibly painful for her to watch someone deliberately create sideshows without any regard for the human consequences simply because they don’t want a show to be on the air.”
It was only a few days ago, when Dakota called cops on Taylor as he wanted to know if the protective order was violated. Following this, the officers called Taylor and collected her statement. According to sources, Taylor and Dakota haven't seen or spoken to each other since the time the protective orders were issued. According to TMZ, Paul reportedly called out Dakota, posting stories on social media, wherein she called him obsessive. She reportedly wrote:
"Cops called on me again THIS WEEK … What are the odds? And it’s not people … it’s ONE person, the same person. It’s obsessive.”
Taylor and Tate got married in 2016, and it was in 2022 when the couple got divorced. The duo shares two kids, Indy and Ocean. After her highly publicised divorce from Tate, Taylor started dating Dakota in 2022. It was in 2024 when the couple welcomed their kid, Ever.
However, soon after, Taylor announced that they had officially parted ways. In 2023, Taylor was arrested over a dispute with Dakota, and it turned into a controversy. Well, the past incident surfaced recently as TMZ released the video where Dakota was seen throwing a chair at him. The intense video sparked controversy, and it led ABC to pull the plug on the show. Another controversy broke out in February 2026, which prompted them to file a restraining order against each other.
