Following the wedding, Demi gave fans a glimpse of sweet mother-daughter moments from Tallulah’s dress fitting via an Instagram post. Now, with Tallulah in the spotlight, her statements about being ‘emotionally and physically abused’ when she was young have surfaced.
Tallulah Willis once revealed that she was a victim of long-term abuse. In a now-deleted Instagram post, she claimed that she was ‘trapped’ into living with a caretaker when she was 18 to 20 years old. She accused the caretaker of isolating her from the outside world at that time.
Tallulah said that while the person ‘never physically touched’ her, they showed ‘no mercy’ when it came to manipulating her and coercing her into moving in with them. She shared that her abuser changed her father, Bruce Willis' phone number, and later also took over her email account and hid the mail she received from her.
Bearing her heart out, Tallulah began her note by writing, “I have a story,” on top of a black background. She said that it had taken a long time for her to heal, but she was finally ready to share as much as she could with her fans. Tallulah Willis wrote:
“I've strived to be as open as possible, most often finding community with my vulnerability. With nervous fingers, I am ready to share about a time in my life that I had chosen to not give to the public. It's taken a long time to heal, and if I'm being honest, even as a freshly 27-year-old, the wounds are still gaping, yet I've been fighting each day to heal for the past couple years.”
Asking everyone to bear with her, Tallulah went on to reveal that the abuse happened at the hands of a paid caretaker whom she had actually known since elementary school and believed would keep her safe. She claimed that things started going south when she deferred her acceptance to Boston University at the age of 18.
Referring to the person as a “sociopath,” she said that was when they told her to live with them, and she complied without protest. After moving in, the abuser took over her life. Tallulah stated:
“This person changed my phone number, my email address rerouted to theirs, mail was kept from me; I was trapped in a house of horrors and told no one cared, no one was coming. I was never physically touched, but emotionally and psychologically abused with truly no mercy. For two years I lived in fear so pungent my stomach recoils in memory. It stayed in the back of my throat long after I escaped my abuser.”
On August 11, 2026, Demi Moore took to Instagram to share a carousel of photos from her daughter, Tallulah Willis’ wedding dress fitting. The photos showed the duo together as Tallulah tried on her gown and Demi placed a veil on her head. In the caption of the post, Demi penned a heartfelt note for her daughter and wrote:
“A glimpse into my beloved Tallulah’s wedding dress fitting. All the tender moments leading up to her beautiful day are forever etched in my heart. So grateful we were able to share this precious event together as a family.”
Demi also thanked Pier Paolo Piccioli for designing the remarkable dress for Tallulah and making her “dreams come true.” Later, Tallulah responded to her mom’s post by commenting, “I love you mamas.”
