In the latest episode of Rise and Fall 2, Swara opened up about her two failed IVF attempts.
On Rise and Fall 2, Swara Bhasker got candid about a phase when she tried to become a mother before getting married. The actress revealed she underwent two failed IVF rounds with an anonymous donor before her marriage to Fahad Ahmad. Swara said that she had discussed the possibility of IVF with her parents and was ready to have a baby without getting married. She said:
"I was okay with doing IVF; I had convinced my parents, 'Meri shaadi toh hone se rahi, main IVF se bacha karungi.'"
Swara Bhasker shared her parents’ first reaction to her decision. They were a bit hesitant but later understood and stood by her. Recalling the conversation, Swara said, "First they were like, 'Hain?' And then bechare mere parents yaar, bade sweet log hain. They were like, 'Okay,' but of course talked to me and said, 'Listen, it will be very challenging in a country like India. But it’s okay if that’s what you want.'"
Swara then shared that this was not just a plan she had discussed at home. She actually went ahead and tried IVF twice, using an anonymous donor. However, the IVF attempts failed each time. Then, Swara met the man of her dreams, Fahad Ahmad, in January 2020 at a protest against the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) in New Delhi.
During the same conversation on Rise and Fall 2, Swara shared that she and Fahad hooked up immediately. They got married in court. For the unversed, Swara and Fahad registered their marriage in Mumbai on February 16, 2023. Later, the couple had a traditional wedding celebration with their family and friends.
The duo embraced parenthood by welcoming their daughter, Raabiyaa, on September 23, 2023. Earlier, on June 6, 2023, Swara and Fahad announced that they were expecting their first baby. In a 2025 interview with PTI, Swara revealed that motherhood brought a kind of identity crisis. She explained that the hardest part of being a mom was not knowing who she actually was. She admitted that before embracing motherhood, she was an ambitious, driven person.
Swara Bhasker is a phenomenal actress. She gained recognition with her role in the hit film Tanu Weds Manu. She received wider acclaim with films including Raanjhanaa, Prem Ratan Dhan Payo, and Veere Di Wedding. In the 2025 interview with PTI, Swara shared that after embracing motherhood, she had stopped chasing films. She admitted that she was only chasing financial stability to provide her child with a stable home.
Currently, Swara is seen on the show Rise and Fall 2. During the premiere episode of the show, Swara was seen wearing a purple saree. However, it was her embroidered blouse that stole the limelight. The blouse bore the text 'moti'. Her outfit served as a bold response to the online trolls who have body-shamed her over her postpartum weight gain since she became a mother.
Before entering the show, Swara sat for a candid interview with TOI. She shared that motherhood changes every woman’s body and it is completely natural. She mentioned that people need to stop expecting women to immediately look the way they did before pregnancy.
