Suryakumar Yadav a.k.a SKY returns to IPL 2026 three days after becoming a dad to his baby girl, Riddhima.
Currently, the IPL fever is on, and fans are keeping their fingers crossed for their favourite team. Today, on May 10, 2025, the Mumbai Indians (MI) and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) are having a face-off in Raipur. Ahead of the match, the MI fans were worried about Suryakumar Yadav’s participation in today’s match, as recently he has embraced fatherhood. Although, he was not in his best form in the 2026 IPL season, SKY is one of the key figures when it comes to Indian cricket.
For the unversed, on May 7, 2026, Suryakumar Yadav became a dad to a baby girl. Thus, he stayed in Mumbai and didn’t travel with his Mumbai Indians team to Raipur for their match against RCB. This caused fans to worry whether SKY would appear in today’s match. However, Suryakumar stood by his team and participated in the match. But MI’s acting captain failed to do well and got out in the first ball. It was Bhuvneshwar Kumar whose sensational bowling has put MI in deep trouble. It is worth mentioning that under SKY’s captainship, MI won the last match against Lucknow Super Giants.
Ahead of the match against Royal Challengers Bangalore on May 10, 2026, Suryakumar Yadav was in a celebratory mood. In a now-viral video, SKY was seen giving sweets to the mediaperson and celebrating fatherhood. He was at the Mumbai airport and interacted with reporters before heading inside. He was seen telling the mediaperson, "Yeh lo, aap log khaana yeh."
On May 7, 2026, SKY and his wife, Devisha Shetty, took to their Instagram handles to announce the birth of their little princess. The couple shared a joint post that was all things wholesome. They shared a cutesy picture of their baby girl, who was holding the fingers of Suryakumar and Devisha. The captioned the post as, "With giggles, bows, and dreams to unfurl- we welcome our baby girl." A while back, SKY shared an adorable snap with his wife, Devisha and his baby girl. In the background of the picture, there was a balloon that bore the text, 'Welcome, it's a girl'. The proud daddy introduced his baby girl to the world. Revealing her sweet name, Suryakumar Yadav wrote:
"Introducing our biggest blessing, Riddhima."
Suryakumar Yadav and his now wife, Devisha Shetty, first crossed paths during their college days at R. A. Podar College of Commerce & Economics. It was SKY’s cricket skills that made his place in Devisha’s heart. On the other hand, Devisha’s dancing style impressed the ace cricketer. After dating for a few years, the couple exchanged rings in May 2016.
Two months after their engagement, Devisha and Suryakumar tied the knot in July 2016. The duo had a traditional South Indian ceremony. On their big day, Devisha dazzled in a pink Kanjeevaram saree and temple gold jewellery, and Suryakumar was dressed in a white kurta, a dhoti, and a safa. After 10 years of marriage, Suryakumar Yadav and his wife, Devisha, embraced parenthood.
But they kept the pregnancy news away from the media glare. Earlier, in March 2026, reports surfaced claiming that SKY and his wife, Devisha, were expecting their first baby. In fact, Devisha’s hush-hush baby shower also made headlines. In the viral clip, Suryakumar was seen in a white kurta and trousers, and Devisha wore a golden silk saree which had an orange border. Devisha’s baby bump was clearly visible in the video.
