The Supreme Court had heard the PIL seeking an 'unified' CBI probe into the death case of Sushant Singh Rajput on August 13, 2020, filed by BJP leader and lawyer, Ajay Agrawal. The PIL had contented that 'the entire country is shocked with the way the Mumbai Police is handling this case'. It's pertinent to note that Sushant Singh Rajput's death had taken an ugly political turn owing to the cat-fight between Bihar and Maharashtra governments over jurisdiction and incompetency. Amidst the political chaos, the whole country had come in support of Sushant Singh Rajput's family and had demanded a CBI probe into his death. A surge of campaigns regarding 'CBIForSSR' was seen all over the social media. The Supreme court had earlier reserved it's verdict on the petition. During the hearing, both the Bihar and Maharashtra governments had accused each other involving murky politics over Sushant’s death. According to the reports flashed in The Indian Express, moments ago the Supreme Court directed the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) to investigate Sushant Singh Rajput’s death case and also asked Maharashtra government to cordially cooperate with the probe. The Court also upheld the FIR registered in Patna by Sushant’s father, K K Singh and stated, “FIR registered at Patna was correct. The state of Maharashtra refused the option to challenge the order.” If reports in Bar & Bench are to be believed, the Supreme Court has also directed CBI to also look into any other cases registered in future in relation to the death of actor, Sushant Singh Rajput. Expressing her happiness on the Supreme Court's verdict, Sushant's ex-girlfriend, Ankita Lokhande posted a picture of 'woman of justice' on her IG handle and wrote, "Justice is the truth in action. Truth wins .... #1ststeptossrjustice."
Ahead of Supreme Court's hearing, Sushant's sister, Shweta Singh Kirti had requested his fans to stand together and demand a CBI probe. She had written on her IG handle, "It's time we find the truth and get justice. Please help our family and the whole world to know what the truth is and find closure, otherwise we will never be able to live a peaceful life!!#CBIForSSR Raise your voice and demand #JusticeForSushantSinghRajput #WarriorsForSSR @sushantsinghrajput."
Shweta had also shared a video on her IG handle and had garnered support from the public over SC's hearing regarding Sushant's case being transferred to the CBI. She had said in her video, "Hello everyone, I am Sushant Singh Rajput's sister, and I request everyone to stand together and demand for CBI enquiry for Sushant. We deserve to know the truth. We deserve justice for Sushant. Otherwise, we will never find closure. We won't be able to live a peaceful life." Sushant's ex-girlfriend, Ankita Lokhande had also supported his sister and had written on her Twitter handle, "We will find the truth and get justice di." Check out the full video below. Sushant Singh Rajput's former girlfriend, Ankita Lokhande had also shared a video message requesting for a CBI probe for Sushant. On August 13, 2020, she had posted a video on her IG handle wherein, we could see her asking for CBI enquiry into the matter. She had said, "The nation wants to know what happened with Sushant Singh Rajput. Justice for Sushant. CBI for SSR." She captioned her video as "justiceforsushantsinghrajput #CBIforSSR."
Apart from Ankita Lokhande, Sushant's friend and former co-actor, Kriti Sanon had also demanded CBI probe for him to get a closure. She had taken to her Instagram handle and had shared an IG story, wherein, she had written, "I pray that the Truth comes out soon. His family, his friends, fans and all loved ones deserve this closure.. I hope and pray that the CBI takes over the case, so it's investigated without any political agendas, in true sense, to provide justice to the family!!
