As per the latest reports, Sunjay Kapur's sister, Mandhira, claimed that his widow, Priya Sachdev, draws a salary of Rs. 5 crores from his company.
Billionaire businessman, Sunjay Kapur’s untimely demise on June 12, 2025, came as a shock to many people. The billionaire businessman was playing polo when he collapsed. It was also reported that during the middle of the game, he inhaled a bee, which stung him, and he suffered an attack.
Months after Sunjay’s death, children, Samaira and Kiaan, from his previous marriage to Karisma Kapoor, have approached the Delhi High Court seeking a share in their father's assets. They also accused Sunjay Kapur's third wife, Priya Sachdev, of usurping the 'full control' over their father's assets. And since then, a lot of drama has unfolded over the past few months.
During a conversation with the InControversial podcast, Sunjay Kapur’s sister, Mandhira Kapur, launched fresh attacks on Sunjay’s widow, Priya Sachdev Kapur. It was reported that Priya claimed that Sunjay’s mother, Rani Kapur, continues to draw Rs. 21 lakh a month from the company, along with her personal expenses, just as she did when Sunjay was alive.
Mandhira reacted to the claims and revealed that it was Priya who was taking Rs. 5 crore a month as salary, while Rani, the rightful owner of Sona Comstar, only gets Rs. 12 lakhs. Elaborating on the same, Mandhira revealed:
“When my father was alive, my mother was getting much more than what she did even when my brother was alive and that’s the truth. It is shameful that she is only getting Rs. 12 lakhs. It was Rs. 21 lakhs but after tax and other deductions, she used to get Rs. 13 lakhs which has now dropped to Rs. 12 lakh. But the outsider is getting close to I would think Rs. 3 to 5 crore every month. She is getting Rs. 5 crores, and the creator of the company is getting Rs. 12 lakhs.”
Ever since Sunjay’s death, his family has been fighting over his Rs. 30,000 crores will. After Priya filed a petition regarding her husband’s estate, Kiaan and Samaira’s counsel claimed that nothing was left, and even the banks had been wiped out. Kiaan and Samaira requested one-fifth of their late father's estate. They also mentioned that their father never mentioned the will, which Priya claimed, and the current will was never registered. In a fresh petition, Sunjay’s children, Samaira and Kiaan, filed a new petition against Priya seeking to stop her from altering any of Sunjay's assets until the matter is resolved.
In her latest interview, Priya Mandhira shared that Sunjay was very close to his children, Samaira and Kiaan, and there was no way he would take them out of their will. Speaking about the same, she stated:
“They have been in his life longer than he even knew Priya’s name, and he is going to cut them out? Your children are your heart and soul. Even your parents come second after your kids. There is no way in hell he chose his third wife over his two kids.”
