For the past few months, Sunita has been giving hints about trouble in her married life and has openly addressed the actor’s extra-marital affairs. Even at home, Sunita has discussed her marital discord with Govinda.
Shilpa Shinde entered as a wild card in Lock Up Season 2 and created a stir in the house. After Shilpa entered the show, she was seen messing with the inmates. She indulged in a heated argument with Akanksha Chamola and Ram Kapoor. But when the actress messaged Sunita Ahuja, she fired back.
In the latest promo, Shilpa Shinde tried to corner Sunita Ahuja for making statements about Govinda. While heaping praise on Govinda, Shilpa said that Govinda has an immense fan following and is everyone’s favourite. Questioning Sunita about her take on the actor, Shilpa asked Sunita, ‘Hum toh Govinda ke fan hain. Aap aise kaise bol sakte ho? Aapko pata hai aapne kya decision liya?' After hearing Shilpa, Sunita gave an earful to the actress and said:
“Jab tumhare pe guzrega tab pata chalega.”
Sunita also garnered a lot of attention recently for refusing food. It so happened that other inmates in the house were deprived of basic edible food, while Ram Kapoor and Sunita Ahuja were given proper food due to their medical condition. Seeing this, Ram and Sunita refused to have their meal as it would be unfair to others. As she spoke to the inmates, Sunita revealed that Govinda had warned her not to do the show. Revealing how she is regretting ignoring his advice, Sunita stated:
“Jab-jab uski (Govinda) ki baat nahi suni, pachtayi hoon main."
In one of the episodes of Lock Up Season 2, Sunita spoke to fellow contestant Shreya Kalra, and soon the conversation turned emotional for her as she spoke about her relationship with Govinda. During the conversation, Sunita revealed feeling cheated in her marriage and revealed that infidelity has been a part of her life since her marriage.
When Shreya asked Sunita whether she is still hurt, the latter replied, 'It is fine, I live for my kids.’ Going further in the conversation, Shreya asked Sunita whether Govinda was still being unfaithful towards Sunita, to which the star wife replied:
“Tum rok sakte ho kisi ko? Main sochti hi nahi hoon.”
The buzz about Govinda and Sunita’s divorce started in 2024 after reports surfaced that the actor's wife had filed for divorce at the Bandra family court. She moved the case under Section 13 (1) (i), (ia), (ib) of the Hindu Marriage Act, 1955, citing adultery, cruelty, and desertion as grounds. Later, Govinda’s team rubbished the reports, and the couple was also seen celebrating Ganesh Chaturthi together while greeting the media.
However, Sunita has been hinting that all is not well in her marriage to Govinda and that she and the actor have been living in separate homes for 15 years. In a vlog, Sunita discussed various aspects of her life and highlighted rumours about her husband's alleged affair. During the interaction, Sunita talked about the tension in her married life with Govinda and took a dig at struggling actresses looking for ‘sugar daddies’ to settle their lives.
