Star Wars: Maul - Shadow Lord is going to follow a common format used by the producers of various TV shows today. With ten episodes, the producers have not revealed the titles of them until now. However, the show will be released on Disney+ on April 6, 2026. Two episodes will arrive each week on the streaming platform, with the final two airing on May 4, 2026. The makers have not renewed the show for a new season. But it will mark the return of Steward Lee as the director, who has worked on the previous animated shows of the franchise.
The basic premise of the show will be set a year after the events of Star Wars: The Clone Wars. The series will continue from where the other show ended. The main focus will be on 'Maul,' who aims to recreate his criminal syndicate on a planet that has not been witnessed by the Empire until now. While entering the planet, 'Maul' will meet a 'Jedi Padawan,' who is expected to help 'Maul' get the revenge that he is seeking so far.
For the unversed, 'Maul' is a Zabrak male who became a crime lord during the rule of the Galactic Empire. The character has a dark side, which is the result of his training, and has the best skills when it comes to lightsaber combat. A new side of 'Maul' appeared when he lost his position on the side of 'Sidious' as the 'Dark Lord of the Sith' and aimed to become more powerful. Maul was born to 'Mother Talzin,' and his family members included two siblings, the 'Nightbrothers Savage Opress' and 'Feral.'
Among the lead cast members, Sam Witwer is giving his voice to 'Maul.' The other main characters include 'Devon Izara,' who will be voiced by Gideon Adlon, followed by Wagner Moura as 'Captain Brander Lawson' and Richard Ayoade as a droid. There is also a lineup of supporting characters such as 'Master Eeko-Dio-Daki,' 'Rylee Lawson,' 'Spybot,' and more. The remaining characters would be voiced by popular faces like Dennis Haysbert, Vanessa Marshall, A.J. LoCascio, Steve Blum, and many others.
