After falling in love with the popular director and producer, Mahesh Bhatt, the actress had tied the knot and had become a proud mother to two daughters, Alia Bhatt and Shaheen Bhatt.

She has always wanted to become an actress, and the Gangubai Kathiawadi star is living her dream. And, Soni Razdan has been on cloud nine as her daughter, Alia Bhatt has entered into the next phase of her life as she had got married to Ranbir Kapoor on April 14, 2022.

On May 19, 2022, Soni Razdan took to her Instagram handle and shared a monochrome throwback picture with her actress friend, Deepti Naval. In the photo, Soni can be seen wearing a black T-shirt and posing with Deepti for the photo. Reliving and sharing the good old days' memories, Soni captioned the picture as:
"There is simply no alternative to youth @deepti.naval thanks for sending me this pic of our good ol' days!"
As soon as the picture was uploaded, her fans couldn't miss the uncanny resemblance between her and her daughter, Alia Bhatt. Fans from across the corner started to pour their love and point out the similarities between them. One of the followers wrote, "Now we know why alia is pretty!" In an old interview with Film Companion, Soni Razdan had talked about how she had wanted to work in films after Alia Bhatt's birth, but directors wouldn't consider her because of her marital status. Recalling an incident, she had mentioned that a few directors had dismissed her despite being a good actress because she was 'shaadi shuda'. She had said:
"I don't know which child I'd had. I think it was after Alia was born, if I'm not mistaken. I wanted to start working again. I went to a producer friend and I said 'this is what I want to do and don't tell my husband that I want to start working'. So he was very sweet and he got me this elderly lady who was very respectable. She started to put my name out. She used to visit all these offices, that's how it was done. Your manager went from office to office and said Soni Razdan' kaam karna chahti hain'. The response was, 'Kyu?' She'd tell them, 'Because she is a good actress'. ‘Lekin woh abhi shaadi shuda haina?’ That was the answer she used to get. That was what I was up against. If I am sitting here today, I think that is a big achievement."
On the professional front, Soni Razdan and Alia Bhatt had worked together in the film, Raazi.
