After her father suffered heart attack-like symptoms, Smriti Mandhana's fiance, Palash Muchhal, was rushed to the hospital.
Indian women’s cricket team vice-captain, Smriti Mandhana’s wedding is leading the headlines after the celebrations came to a sudden halt following her father’s medical emergency. Her father displayed heart attack-like symptoms and rushed to the hospital. And now her fiancé, Palash, was taken to a private hospital after his health deteriorated.
According to a report by NDTV, Palash was taken to a hospital due to a viral infection and increased acidity. The report further added that the issue is not serious, as he was treated for the same. After his condition stabilized, Palash left the hospital and returned to the hotel. He is currently recovering.
Smriti Mandhana’s wedding functions came to a halt after her father showed heart attack-like symptoms as he had pain on the left side of his chest. The family members immediately rushed him to the nearby hospital. Smriti’s father remains hospitalised but is in a stable condition and recovering.
Dr. Naman Shah, Director of Sarvhit Hospital in Sangli, shared a statement with the press, revealing that Shriniwas has elevated cardiac enzymes and, if needed, may require an angiogram. Shriniwas' doctor shared:
"At around 1.30 pm, Mr Srinivas Mandhana got left-sided chest pain, we call it 'angina' in medical terms. As the symptoms surfaced, his son called me, we sent an ambulance, he was shifted to hospital. We found out in ECG, other reports, that cardiac enzymes are elevated, hence we need to keep him in observation. Blood pressure is also elevated, efforts are on to lower it. The whole team is monitoring. If situation exacerbates, we will have to do angiography.”
The doctor also stated that Shriniwas's blood pressure has been elevated, and because of this, he needed continuous observation. The doctor stated that the same could be due to physical or mental stress, perhaps because it is wedding season with a lot of hectic activity.
The recent health scare of Smriti Mandhana’s father led to the wedding being postponed indefinitely. Smriti's manager, Tuhin Mishra, announced the same and stated that she wants her father to recover first before resuming the wedding. Though her father’s condition is stated to be stable, no new date has been announced as of now.
