Amid this, another heinous murder involving a bride to-be, a groom-to-be and the former’s alleged lover is hogging the limelight. A 20-year-old Siya Goyal was all set to get married to 26-year-old Ketan Agarwal, son of real-estate businessman, Vishal Agarwal. However, due to an alleged affair with a man named Chetan Chaudhary, Siya plotted the murder of her to-be-husband, Ketan. According to reports, Siya was helped by Chetan while she pushed Ketan from the Lohagard fort.
Siya Goyal and Ketan Agarwal exchanged rings in February 2026. The engagement had been an arranged match. Everything was going well and looked normal. In fact, the two families were preparing for the couple’s marriage scheduled for November 2026. The Agarwal family had already booked a luxurious palace in Udaipur for the wedding ceremony and arranged two private planes for guests to travel. They had reserved 40 rooms at a luxury resort in Mahabaleshwar for Siya's birthday celebration. The pair appeared to be a happy couple. Siya was very involved with Ketan’s family, revealed his mom. She told:
"I met her many times. We went shopping and out for dinner together frequently, yet it never crossed our minds that she could be this kind of person."
According to a report by India Today, investigators got to know that it was a second attempt by Siya Goyal. Earlier, she failed to kill Ketan and later took him to the same fort. She reportedly succeeded in killing Ketan in the second attempt. Siya was helped by her alleged lover, Chetan. Investigators found phone call records that showed 2,004 calls between Siya and another man, Chetan, between January 1, 2026, and January 18, 2026.
While speaking to reporters, Ketan Agarwal’s father alleged that Siya Goyal’s uncle and aunt forced her to marry his son despite knowing about her affair with Chetan. Vishal revealed that he had known Siya’s family for 35 years. Vishal mentioned that if Siya refused to marry Ketan, he would have cancelled the wedding immediately. He was quoted as saying:
"We have known the girl's family for 35 years. How could they do this to us? Siya's uncle and aunt pushed for the match despite knowing about her affair. If she didn't want to get married, she could have simply refused. We would have cancelled the wedding immediately. Why did they take such a drastic step? What kind of mindset is this? Their mindset is so cruel that someone's 26-year-old son could be killed. Society needs to take note of such a cruel mindset. Where does this ideology come from - their family, their upbringing?"
Police have arrested both Siya and her alleged lover, Chetan. Speaking to the media, Pune Rural police chief, Sandeep Singh Gill revealed that Siya and Ketan had a plan to go to Bali for their pre-wedding shoot in the first week of June 2026. However, they had to return as Ketan’s passport went missing at the airport. During the investigation, they found it was Siya who intentionally hid Ketan’s passport to avoid going to Bali with him. The Pune Rural police chief, Sandeep, said:
"In the first week of June, they had a plan to go to Bali for a pre-wedding shoot. They went to Mumbai to leave for Bali, but Ketan’s passport went missing at the airport. They had to return. In our probe, it has come to light that Siya hid Ketan’s passport to avoid going to Bali with him."
