Sidharth Malhotra is going through the toughest times as he lost his father. The actor penned a heart-wrenching note.
Sidharth Malhotra, who was busy taking on this fatherhood duty, suffered the biggest loss of his life. His father, Sunil Malhotra, passed away on February 14, 2026. Sidharth, along with his wife, Kiara Advani and their daughter, immediately rushed back to Delhi to be with the family in the most difficult phase of life. The actor announced his father's passing in the most heart-wrenching note.
On February 17, 2026, Sidharth Malhotra took to his Instagram handle and posted a heartbreaking note. He revealed that his father was a man of rare honesty, integrity and someone who was rooted in culture. Sidharth stated that his father lived by values that he never bent for anyone. He followed discipline without being too harsh. He had strength without ego. He was positive, when life kept testing him.
Sidharth revealed that his father was a Merchant Navy Captain who commanded the seas. And when he faced illness, he fought it with courage and never compromised. He stated even when the stroke confined him to a wheelchair, he remained strong. He wrote:
"He was a man of rare honesty, integrity and culture. He lived by values that never bent. Discipline without harshness. Strength without ego. Positivity, even when life tested him beyond measure. From commanding the seas as a Merchant Navy Captain to facing illness with quiet courage, he never compromised, never lost his grace. Even when the stroke confined him to a wheelchair, his spirit stood tall."
Sidharth further mentioned that his father's integrity is now his strength and he keeps guiding him every day. He also talked about his father's cause of death and revealed that he passed away peacefully in his sleep. However, his demise has left a huge void which is irreparable. He concluded his post by writing:
"Papa, your integrity is my inheritance. Your strength guides me every day. Your positivity still holds this family together. You left us peacefully in your sleep, but the space you leave behind is immeasurable. I am who I am because of you. And I will carry your name, your values and your light forward always. Love you Dad."
As per a report in India Today, Sunil Malhotra has been unwell for a long period of time. As per the report, his health deteriorated over time. The family has been grieving his demise and requested privacy as they come to terms with the loss. The Shershaah actor was extremely close. Last year, Sidharth Malhotra gave his father the greatest happiness when he and his wife, Kiara Advani, welcomed their first child, a baby girl.
Earlier, in an interview with Lilly Singh, Sidharth Malhotra talked about his father's health and how it was after his illness, he realised his mother's strength. He revealed that his father has not been well, and there were times he would become frustrated and unintentionally get harsh on his mother, but he realised that she was primarily responsible for managing his father's medication and care.
