In a recent podcast, Shivangi Joshi opened up about love and relationships after her split from Kushal Tandon.
Shivangi Joshi and Kushal Tandon were one of the popular pairs in the Hindi TV industry. Shivangi is best known for her role as 'Naira' in the TV soap opera, Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai. And Kushal rose to fame with his role as 'Virat' in the Hindi TV series, Ek Hazaaron Mein Meri Behna Hai. Earlier, in 2024, Kushal confirmed his relationship with Shivangi, but after a few months, he called it quits. Now, in a recent interview, the TV actress opened up about love and relationships.
According to an IANS report, Shivangi Joshi recently appeared on the podcast Honestly, Why Not by Balaji Telefilms. During the podcast, the Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai actress was asked about her take on dating men from the entertainment industry. In response, Shivangi shared that love has nothing to do with one’s profession. What truly mattered was the person, the respect, and the understanding. She was quoted as saying:
"According to me, what truly matters is the person, the respect, understanding, love, and values they bring into a relationship. The profession really doesn’t matter."
On June 15, 2025, Kushal Tandon took to his Instagram Stories to announce his split from his then-girlfriend, Shivangi Joshi. In the note, Kushal mentioned that they parted ways five months ago, in January 2026. Later, he deleted the note. The breakup announcement came just before Shivangi’s serial, Bade Achhe Lagte Hain Season 4, premiered. The note shared by him can be read as:
"To all the people I love, just wanted to say, me and Shivangi (Joshi) are not together anymore. It’s been 5 months so yes."
A few days after Kushal confirmed their split, on June 22, 2025, Shivangi took to her Instagram Stories and shared a cryptic note. It seemed like a message that wanted to convey to her soul. In the note, she wrote that a lot is happening that no one saw. The cryptic note can be read as, "Babygirl, Love yourself a little extra right now. You're balancing so much, handling things no one sees, and doing your best. Give yourself grace."
In October 2024, Kushal confirmed his relationship with Shivangi in an interview with The Times of India. The Ek Hazaaron Mein Meri Behna Hai actor shared that he is happy to find his ladylove in his life. He mentioned that he is not planning marriage but is definitely in love. He highlighted that they were taking things slow. He also added that his mother desperately wants to see him married. In his words:
"I am not getting married right now, but I am definitely in love. We are taking it very slow. My mother desperately wants to see me married, and unka bas chale toh meri shadi aaj hi karwa de."
Kushal Tandon and Shivangi first crossed paths on the sets of Barsatein – Mausam Pyaar Ka, a romantic TV serial that aired from July 2023 to February 2024. Their sizzling on-screen chemistry soon transitioned into real-life romance. They were rumoured to be dating until October 2024, when Kushal spoke about their relationship for the first time.
Before Kushal, Shivangi was rumoured to be dating her co-star from the serial, Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai. They played the roles of 'Naira' and 'Kartik', and fans loved the on-screen romance of the duo. Kushal was rumoured to be dating Gauahar Khan. The two sparked dating rumours on the show, Bigg Boss Season 7.
