After making headlines in 2025, Sherrone Moore is all set to face legal proceedings over the charges filed against him by his former assistant, Paige Shiver.
Former Michigan coach, Sherrone Moore made headlines towards the end of 2025 after his alleged personal relationship with his fellow employee came to light. Subsequently, he was also charged with violently behaving towards his former assistant, Paige based on her statements. But after months, it seems the case is far from over, as new bodycam footage has added a new twist.
According to bodycam footage obtained by TMZ Sports, Sherrone Moore claimed that his former assistant, Paige Shiver, was responsible for his firing and subsequent arrest. These clips were recorded on December 10, 2025, wherein the former coach was seen in a hospital room undergoing a mental health evaluation test, where he seemed visibly disturbed over the happenings against him. He repeatedly claimed that he "didn't do anything wrong" and would "never harm" Paige Shiver.
Instead, Sherrone claimed that Paige had "set him up" by misinterpreting the events to the authorities. Subsequently, it led to his firing from his job and eventual arrest on the same day. Moreover, he hinted that their personal and professional relationship had soured before the incident. The former Michigan coach stated that he made several attempts to end their bond, which might be the cause behind her legal action, adding to his woes.
The footage, especially, showed Sherrone coming to terms with the reality of his arrest and the potential criminal record it could leave him with. He even asked the stationed offices whether the incident would become public and whether he could contact his wife and kids. Subsequently, the officers allowed him a short call, but parts of the conversation were later redacted from the footage.
Ex-Michigan coach Sherrone Moore became embroiled in a controversy in December 2025 after being fired by the University of Michigan. His firing was followed by the university's internal investigation, where they found evidence of his inappropriate relationship with a fellow employee. Later that day, he allegedly went to Paige's residence, where the situation escalated. According to the police, he tried to harm himself and threatened her with household items such as butter knives and scissors.
Initially, Sherrone was charged with felony home invasion, stalking, and misdemeanor breaking. But, some reports later revealed that he reached a plea deal and pleaded no contest to reduced misdemeanor and trespassing charges. Meanwhile, the next hearing of the case is scheduled for April 17, 2026. On the other hand, Paige Shiver has a different version of events as she alleged that he caused him "years of manipulation, harassment, and exploitation."
Paige Shiver is the daughter of a longtime NFL scout and a graduate of Prude University. In her personal life, she has been open about the challenge of living with a rare genetic disorder, Pompe disease. She previous served as an executive assistant in University of Michigan after joining in 2021. Eventually, she was promoted to work directly under the head coach, but her contract was not renewed. Amid the legal chaos, her legal team claims that the power imbalance between her and Sherrone led to the suspension and legal proceedings.
