Actress Shagufta Ali is still single at the age of 59, here's why the veteran star never got married despite being deeply in love.

She started her acting career in 1989 with the film, Kanoon Apna Apna, starring Dilip Kumar, Nutan, Sanjay Dutt and Madhuri Dixit. She made her television debut in the same year with the show, Dard. Shagufta gained popularity with the shows like Punar Vivah, Ek Veer Ki Ardaas…Veera, Sasural Simar Ka and many others.
Despite being a successful actress, Shagufta Ali doesn’t have a family of her own. She lives with her mother and have her cousins around. The actress, who has worked with superstar Rajnikanth chose to remain single at 59 and the reason behind it was the biggest heartbreak she had in her life.
Shagufta was in a relationship with a man for almost 26 years. She was madly in love with him and wished to get married. But something or other kept happening in their life whenever they planned to get married. Unforeseen mishaps and accidents kept happening whenever they decided to take the plunge.
But in 2011, he passed away and Shagufta was left heartbroken. She couldn’t overcome the grief of losing the man she loved and decided not to pursue marriage with anyone else. In a conversation with Navbharat Times, Shagufta spoke about her single status and revealed that since an early-stage pf her life, she had responsibilities as she had an ailing father.
After his death, she became the breadwinner of the family but her relationship gave her strength and she too wished to start a family but that didn’t happen. The actress also revealed that many pages and YouTube channels have mentioned her as a married actress with two kids, but all that information is fake.
During an interaction with Siddharth Kannan, Shagufta Ali shared a difficult phase of her life when she was diagnosed with stage 3 cancer. The actress was diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer and she kept it a secret for a long time as she feared that it would impact her career.
Going further in the interview, Shagufta revealed that the fear of losing her job and getting no project stopped her from revealing her condition. Speaking about the same, she said:
“Uss zamaane mein uss cheez ko ye kaha jaata tha ki nahi batana. Bilkul don't talk about it and don't speak about it. Nahi toh kaam nahi milna. Phir wahi darr, dara diya ki kaam nahi milega. Phir industry waale aisa karne lagte hain, aisa behave karte hain, aisa behave karte hain. Toh nahi bataya tha maine.”
Additionally, Shagufta Ali revealed that due to her medical expenses, her savings ran out. She had to sell her car and valuables to make her ends meet. When she faced financial struggles, people questioned her about her savings, the actress replied that her medical bills were taken care of by the savings she had. She went on to say that she never used her profits for extravagant lifestyles or frivolous items, instead using them to pay for her family's necessities and medical expenses.
