The Invite has been making headlines for its stellar cast. However, it seems that behind the scenes there were certain moments that are proving as interesting as the film. And now, during a recent appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live, Seth Rogen has recounted some hilarious incidents that involved him and Penelope Cruz.
The actor revealed that "it was crazy" to film sex scenes with the very gorgeous Penelope Cruz for their new movie The Invite, revealing that he kept thanking and apologizing to his co-star. He recalled:
"What's actually funny in the scene is we were encouraged to improvise. There's a scene where me and her are having a romantically charged moment, and it seems like we might hook up with one another, and I just kept saying 'Thank you.' And Olivia Wilde, the director, was just like, 'Why? What are you doing? Why do you keep saying 'Thank you'? And I was like, 'I don't [know]. It's just what's coming out of my mouth.'"
Further in the conversation, Seth Rogen explained how he would react to such a situation in real life. He said, "I would be apologetic and thankful. I'm sorry." For the unversed, Rogen has been married to Lauren Miller for over a decade now. However, it was Penelope Cruz's husband, Javier Bardem, he was worried about. He revealed, "So, you're very worried about that. I don't think he views me as a legitimate threat in any way, shape or form."
In the same conversation, Seth Rogen further revealed that Penelope Cruz was also improvising when it came to their onscreen chemistry. The actor revealed that Cruz randomly decided to perform Sade in the film. Rogen revealed that it was the actress' idea as she thought it would be hilarious. He stated:
"It was Penélope Cruz's idea. There's a scene where we're being romantic, and she was like, 'What if I start singing Sade to you?' which is sort of sexy, but also kind of hilarious at the same time."
Seth Rogen also recalled how he injured himself while filming the scene. He revealed that there was a scene where he had to attempt to take off his pants and fall. He recalled doing exactly that and everyone being extremely happy about it. However, what no one noticed was that Rogen had actually hurt his shoulder. He stated:
"It's funny if I'm trying to get my pants off and maybe I struggle, and I fall down in the scene. And I did it. Everyone's like, 'That was great.' And then I hurt my shoulder for seven months."
