Selma Blair's representative issued a statement about her recent arrest on a fligth, claiming she tried to open the aircraft door mid-air.

Selma Blair's spokesperson shared a statement with PEOPLE and talked about her arrest. They said that since October 11, 2026, reports have circulated about Selma boarding a flight to New York, and narratives have been built around a police statement.
The actress was arrested at New York City's John F. Kennedy International Airport before she was taken to the hospital after an alleged altercation with crew members on Delta Airlines. She appeared in court and pleaded not guilty to two counts of second-degree assault, and was later released on bail.
The representative corrected the speculation and stated that Selma Blair had a medical emergency on the flight, that she had not made any attempt to open the door of the aircraft, and that she had no intention to harm anyone. For the unversed, Selma was diagnosed with the chronic autoimmune disease multiple sclerosis in 2018.
The spokesperson added that it was extremely outrageous to state that Selma doesn't have multiple sclerosis. The representative added that she has been fighting it and has done wonders over the years while managing her condition. She has her bad days and lives with pain daily.
The spokesperson added that Selma also has pseudobulbar affect, a neurological condition. For the same reason, she travels with a service dog who doesn't leave her side. The representative revealed that this time the authorities had taken her dog from her, and said:
"She still has bad days, and she lives with pain daily. Selma also has pseudobulbar affect, a neurological condition secondary to her MS, which bears directly on how a medical episode presents to people who do not know her. For the same reason, she travels with a service dog who doesn’t leave her side, and the authorities took her dog from her.”
Counting Selma's work over the years and her film and television projects set for 2026, the representative noted she has never been arrested. The statement also said there is more to her arrest story than has been reported. They asked people to consider the facts before rushing to judgment, whether in the courtroom or in the court of public opinion.
For the unversed, Selma has been accused of kicking a police officer and a nurse in the chest on the flight. Dispatch audio indicated that an emergency responder identified someone involved in the plane incident as injured, with some bite marks and other minor injuries. Soon, FBI launched an investigation into the matter.
After Selma's arrest, her on-and-off boyfriend, Andy Kiernank, asked people to pray for her in the extremely difficult time of her life. He wrote, "Pray for Selma." He also added that she has a good heart and didn't get the help she should have during the medical episode.
