In a recent interview, Savannah Guthrie shared her secret behind standing strong amid her mom, Nancy's disappearance. She has been missing since February 1, 2026.
Savannah Guthrie, the co-host of the Today show, is going through a tough time due to her mom, Nancy’s disappearance. In fact, she has also stepped back from the show ever since Nancy went missing. For the unversed, Nancy went missing on February 1, 2026 and was last seen on January 31, 2026, after her family dropped her off at her home in Tucson, Ariz. Recently, the Guthrie family issued a statement and expressed their grief over Nancy’s disappearance. In a new interview, Savannah stood strong amid the family tragedy.
In a fresh interview with Hoda Kotb, Savannah Guthrie explained what has helped her through her family's tragedy. The Today co-host shared that it is faith that made her feel connected to her mom. Savannah stated that she can’t let grief win, as her mom, Nancy, taught her how to fight in difficult times. Savannah highlighted that there was a time when her 84-year-old mom, Nancy, suffered a lot in life, but she remained hopeful and laughed through it. Savannah added that Nancy taught them how to stand strong through a tough phase. She was quoted as saying:
"Faith is how I will stay connected to my mom. God is how I’m holding hands with my mom. And I won’t let sadness win for her. She taught me. I saw her grieve. I saw her world shatter. I saw it. And I saw her get up, and I saw her believe. And I saw her love. And I saw her hope, and I saw her smile, and I saw her laugh. I saw her joy. I saw her love of the world and adventure. I saw her belief. I saw her faith. She taught me. She taught all of us."
In the same interview, Savannah Guthrie stated that although she is not as strong as her mom, Nancy, she will try not to break down. The Today co-host highlighted that she needs to stay strong for her own kids. For the uninitiated, Savannah shares two children, daughter, Vale and son, Charley with her husband, Michael Feldman. She gave a clear message to Nancy’s abductors and shared that she won’t allow them to take away her and her family’s joy. She was quoted as saying:
"And I may not do it as well as her, but I will do it. I will do it for my kids. I will. I will not fall apart. I will not let whoever did this take my children’s mother from them. I will not let them take my joy. They will not take my sister’s joy. They will not take my brother’s joy. They will not take our love. They will not take our faith. But our anguish is real. We need help. We need someone to tell the truth."
On March 22, 2026, the Guthrie family shared an official statement drawing attention to Nancy Guthrie’s missing case. In the statement, they expressed their grief over the 84-year-old’s disappearance. They highlighted that their sole focus is on finding Nancy and bringing her home safely. An excerpt from the statement can be read as:
"We miss our mom with every breath, and we cannot be at peace until she is home. We cannot grieve; we can only ache and wonder. Our focus is solely on finding her and bringing her home. We want to celebrate her beautiful and courageous life, but we cannot do that until she is brought to a final place of rest."
