Saurabh Dwivedi, the founder editor of Lallantop, resigned from his position after 12 years of association with India Today Group. The news surfaced on January 5, 2026, and left everyone shocked about the possible reason. While some attributed it to his last show, others wondered whether Saurabh would venture into new fields. According to an email reportedly shared by India Today Group, Saurabh Dwivedi will explore new opportunities across diverse fields. In his post, Saurabh also talked about his journey, lessons, and what's ahead. In the meantime, JioHotstar recently released a teaser for the series Space Gen: Chandrayaan. This series will mark the first collaboration of TVF and JioHotstar, which will premiere on January 23, 2026. The five-episode series is a fictionalised portrayal of the Indian Chandrayan-2 mission.
Among others, Nakuul Mehta, Prakash Belawadi, Shriya Saran, Danish Sait, and Gopal Datt will be seen in the series. What grabbed the attention was that Saurabh Dwivedi was seen in one of the glimpses. While it's not confirmed whether he is going to be featured in the series, or whether it was an edited version of his show, being attached to the teaser, the glimpse of the former founding editor in the teaser instantly sparked excitement, mainly due to it being revealed during that time when he had resigned from his position.

When he was a child, Saurabh Dwivedi was camera-shy and awkward around others. While pursuing a Master's in Hindi Literature, Saurabh Dwivedi's teacher was impressed by his writing skills and encouraged him to pursue journalism. Saurabh listened to his teacher and joined Aajtak.in as a features editor. His association with India Today Group continued, and he soon founded Lallantop, which became one of the well-known digital platforms, shaping Hindi digital journalism. After 12 years of being with the team, he left his position. The reason behind the same was not officially disclosed.
However, people started to connect his resignation with his last show, wherein he talked about polluted water warnings in MP that killed 15 people in Indore, which he also linked with a political party. In the same show, he further mentioned a Bangladeshi player leaving KKR, and the BCCI's instruction to the same during communal tension.
While it's not confirmed whether these comments could be the reason for his quit, people couldn't ignore this, as the former founding editor's exit came as a shock after 12 years. The higher positions at Lallantop offer a package of Rs. 1 lakh per month, according to Amibition Box. Given that Saurabh was the founding editor, his package could be higher. If the reports are to be believed, he has a net worth of Rs. 10-30 crore as of 2025.
Do you think Saurabh Dwivedi is going to opt for acting after his exit from Lallantop?
