Here is all that we know about the reasons behind 'Heeramandi' fame, Sanjeeda Shaikh's alleged divorce from her ex-husband, Aamir Ali.
Sanjeeda Shaik has been one of the stunning actresses of her generation. She recently showed her acting prowess in the series, Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar, and was immensely praised for the same. Ahead of that, she has worked on a number of projects and always swooned millions of hearts. Although Sanjeeda's professional front is riding high as ever, her personal life was not a bed of roses. She was earlier married to the Television actor, Aamir Ali, and together, they are also blessed with a baby girl, Ayra. However, after eight years of marriage, they got separated due to the reasons best known to them.
Sanjeeda Shaik and Aamir Ali were once counted as the most lovable duo in the industry. They had mesmerised many with their sizzling on-screen chemistry in the popular show, Kya Dill Mein Hai, telecasted in 2007. Soon, they became friends, which gradually blossomed into love. Finally, after dating a few years, in 2012, the couple tied the knot. And in 2019, they embraced parenthood for the first time with the birth of their daughter, Ayra via surrogacy. But things then took a sour turn, and they separated in 2020. Afterwards, in 2021, they were granted divorce.

Soon after Sanjeeda and Aamir got divorced, multiple reports started coming out claiming the reasons behind the same. A source close to the ex-couple revealed to BollywoodLife that several close friends and family members of Sanjeeda and Aamir tried to patch them up, but the actress was adamant that she wanted to have a single status and a career in Bollywood ahead. Moreover, another source claimed Sanjeeda was allegedly having an affair with her Taish co-star, Harshvardhan Rane. According to the source, Sanjeeda and Harshvardhan also started working on their second project together, which was Kun Faya Kun, and during which there were sparks in between them. The source said:
“Sanjeeda had been away shooting for a project in London when she began to feel for Harshvardhan Rane and hence the two started having an affair. When Sanjeeda got back to Mumbai she packed her bags and left.”
Meanwhile, in January 2021, Aamir Ali shared a couple of photos with a mystery girl on his Instagram handle. In the pictures, Aamir was seen in some mushy poses along with the girl, which further confused the netizens. While some thought about his new fling post-divorce, some even claimed that the lady was Sanjeeda and they might have reconciled. Later, Aamir reacted to the same speculations and clarified that the pictures were just from a music video shoot.
In an interview with ETimes, Aamir Ali once opened up about the divorce with Sanjeeda Shaikh. He revealed that the period after his marriage broke was one of the most challenging times for him, and it took him some time to retrieve his sportsman spirit. However, Aamir mentioned that he still harbors no ill feelings toward his ex-wife and shared that the COVID-19 pandemic gave him ample time for introspection. Revealing how he learned to move on, he said:
“It was extremely difficult at that point. After my marriage fell apart, main hil chuka tha. But I am a sportsman by nature, and I never give up. I have always been a happy soul, and I am glad that I am back to being that. I don’t harbour ill feelings for anyone and I wish the best for my ex. Sab khush raho life mein. During the pandemic, I got a lot of time to introspect. I started looking at the positives, be it from COVID-19 or my failed relationship. I learnt to move on. If I am happy, I will be able to keep everyone around me happy or my world will collapse."

In the same interaction, Aamir was asked if he was not being able to meet his daughter. To this, he said that a man is always blamed in divorce cases. Hence, he doesn't want to play any sympathy cards. However, the doting daddy hopped well for his baby girl and mentioned that Sanjeeda must has been providing Ayra with the best life she deserves. Adding that due to the same, he decided to maintain a dignified distance from them, Aamir shared:
“It’s a sensitive topic and I don’t wish to talk about it. I don’t want to play any cards, but unfortunately, a man is always blamed. I have always maintained a dignified silence on matters related to my personal life. Someone I have spent so many years with deserves respect. So, I won’t say anything. I just wish them all the best. I am sure Ayra is being taken care of in the best way possible and I only have immense love for her.”
Well, whatever may be the real reason behind Sanjeeda and Aamir's divorce, we hope their child gets all the love and care she deserves.
