Sania Mirza's Son, Izhaan Makes His Wimbledon Debut, Cheers For Amma After Her First-Round Win

Sania Mirza's son, Izhaan Mirza Malik cheers for her after she wins the first round at Wimbledon with her doubles partner Bethanie Mattek Sands.

Indian Tennis sensation, Sania Mirza had begun her forever journey with Pakistani cricketer, Shoaib Malik on April 12, 2010. And after eight years of marital bliss, Sania and Shoaib had welcomed their baby boy, Izhaan Mirza Malik on October 30, 2018. Since then, the doting parents have been sharing glimpses of their little wonder and just like his star parents, Izhaan too enjoys a huge fanbase.

On May 2021, Sania had celebrated Eid with Shoaib Malik and Izhaan Mirza Malik. Twinning with her son for the celebrations, Sania had looked stunning in a green kurta and matching green palazzo pants. On the other side, little Izzi had donned a green kurta and white pyjama. Sania had captioned the pictures as “Twinning and winning my laddoo.”

Currently, Sania Mirza is in London for Wimbledon 2021. She and her doubles partner Bethanie Mattek Sands have reached into the second round. Sania and Bethanie had a special guest in attendance to cheer for them and it was none other than Sania’s little munchkin, Izhaan. On July 1, 2021, Sania took to her IG handle and shared a picture with Bethanie and Izhaan and wrote, “Round 1…Smiles Spider man cheering us on Wimbledon.”

Sania Mirza has been selected to compete in the Olympic Games. She is the first Indian woman to compete in four Olympic Games but the tennis sensation has a difficult decision to make. As the family members of the players are not allowed to travel with them due to the pandemic, Sania has to leave Izhaan while she travels to Tokyo.

Talking about the same in a press meet at Wimbledon, Sania stated, “Leaving him at any time is difficult. I try to do it as little as possible. But if it’s something I have to do, then that’s what I will do. As working mothers, sometimes you have to do it.”

On January 14, 2020, Sania had returned to the tennis court after a gap of 2.5 years. It was a special moment for Sania as her parents and her son, Izhaan had come to cheer her up and had become her good luck charm. She had taken to her Instagram handle and had shared two pictures. In one of the pictures, she was seen giving a high-five to her son, Izhaan.

Along with the pictures, she had written, “Today was one of the most special days of my life... to have my parents and my little baby boy supporting me in my first match after a little less than 2 and a half years... and to top it off we even WON our first round with my partner @nadiakichenok feel very grateful and thankful for all the msgs, support and love I am receiving. BELIEF!! Takes you places. YES, my baby boy, we did it @izhaan.mirzamalik. Allhamdulillah for everything.”
