Duck Dynasty actress, Sadie Robertson, has opened up about a horrific moment in her life when her eight-month-old baby daughter, Kit, choked, and her breathing had stopped for a brief moment. It was a few days back that Sadie opened up about the scariest experience of her life, where she was shocked to see her eight-month-old baby daughter, Kit, choke.
Sadie Robertson started her post by saying she has been off social media and has been having her family help her stay focused while she works. Raising awareness about what happened to her daughter, Katie, Sadie revealed that her baby was sitting high in her chair, eating a snack while she finished her dinner preparations. Sadie saw that Katie was choking and describing the terrible incident, the actress said:
"My mom pulled her from the high chair and placed my girl into my arms just as she stopped breathing. Everyone went into action and into prayer. Mom called 911, I started CPR, and everyone began to pray out loud and move the other kids downstairs. I am one of those people who likes to be prepared for all situations, so I’ve watched several videos while hoping and praying I would never have to use this knowledge. I can only explain it now like my body just knew what to do."
Sadie began her post by saying that she is vulnerable and that she is speaking about it on social media. It feels hard to talk about the same in her real life, but she feels it is very important to share, as Sadie believes that awareness of the same will actually save lives. Sadie revealed that at the moment, she is walking through the waves of anxiety from the trauma of the situation. The actress expressed gratitude for the miracle of her daughter, Kit's entire recovery and for God’s undeniable hand in this situation.
Sadie revealed that she felt that God's spirit was guiding and partnering with her in whatever she had learnt and seen. She revealed, telling it loud about what she does, and started doing the same. Sadie followed the protocol of baby choking and did the CPR. Kit then miraculously coughed and began breathing just as the paramedics arrived. The moment was very terrifying for her. Sadie took her daughter, Katie, in the ambulance and was afraid but praised God. In her words:
"Christian drove behind, following us, and told me there was a rainbow over the ambulance the whole way there. We stayed the night for observation, but she charmed the nurses just a few hours later and is now perfectly healthy, happy, and brightening everyone’s day!"
For those who do not know, Sadie has an eight-month-old daughter, Katie, along with Honey, aged 4, and Haven, aged 2. She is a mother to three girls and married Christian Huff back in 2019. Sadie revealed in her post that she spoke about Katie's choking incident just like a testimony, and also as an encouragement for everyone to learn what to do in the case of an emergency. Sadie revealed that everything happened so fast that she totally could not get into any action. In her words:
"We know that God has our children in His hands - we are not in control of our children’s breath or even of our own. We can’t live in a state of fear… we have to trust God in all of it. And also, preparation and knowledge in the spiritual and physical sense can be a gift that you can give yourself and your family! Please join us in thanking God for this miracle!"
